The hotwater in the shower was poor !! & the Traffiic Control guys staying @ the motel starting there vehicle @5.30am & leaving in running for half an hour outside my room before leaving was disappointing to say the least !! However if I return to Nelson I would stay again :)

Really nice motel and the staff were really nice, however there was no restriction on the use of the very noisy laundry rooms. It would be much better if the use of these items was restricted to reasonable hours, or that the equipment was replaced with much less noisy ones.

We were booked for an upstairs room but asked for a downstairs room and we were happily changed with no issues, thank you! Everything was good bed was comfy and good sized bathroom. Able to easily walk to dine out and good location across from the beach.

Outstanding hotel, superb location. We were given a room on the ground floor which required a fair bit of organisation by the receptionist. She was very helpful. Quite the best hotel we have stayed in yet on our road trip around NZ.

This was our first holiday in over ten years and it was the perfect location for the beach, eating out, and bus to the city. A staff member I spoke to on leaving was excellent. However, staff on arrival were not very welcoming and expected full payment upfront, which seemed odd, until I saw our room and realised there must be people who see the room and leave without staying and paying. Our room was large but dark and in desperate need of a refresh many years ago. The bathroom is tiny, nowhere to put on makeup, the shower didn't drain, items in the bathroom were broken, the heated towel rail was not connected to power so towels didn't dry, the fridge is ancient and noisy during the night, there is no AC, so the room is sweltering at night and the fan is inadequate and very loud too. Pillows were unsupportive, the skirting and wall sconces needed cleaning, and the lounge chairs needed the skip bin. There were no beach towels available for the pool so we had to purchase these. We left unrested, disappointed, and unlikely to stay again unless changes were made.

We highly recommend this Hotel was within easy walking distance of the beach and many eateries. The staff were most welcoming and very helpful. The heated Swimming pool was a nice relaxing bonus.

The pool and proximity to the beach was great. The shower was a continuous problem with the water changing between hot and cold constantly, and just a bit of a struggle getting to sleep at night with guests above us thumping around heavily late into the evening. Other than that it was a nice stay.

The location is superb. Closer to amenities, beach and a playground for kids. The room interior is dated. Carpets are stained and very old. You feel it entering the room. Toilets could use some fan ventilation. Our experience overall was average.

Excellent family place to stay. Close to beach and all the other great activities around the hotel. Huge fields across road for kids to run around at. Very clean, tidy and with helpful staff. Definitely be out place to stay when we come to Nelson, and im telling everyone about it too :)

Don't recommend this hotel
Nice location close to the beach but the hotel room is poor. Shower is terrible and doesn't smell good. They put water in the shampoo which is unacceptable. Room is very small and stuffy. Check in closes at 8pm unlike most hotels.

Rude and argumentative staff member at reception (older woman). There was an issue with Expedia/Hotel. Expedia quoted me one price, the hotel then charged me a higher price. The staff member blamed Expedia, then blamed me for using Expedia and said it’s not her problem. I haven’t had this issue with any other motel/hotel. She was unhelpful and seemed to enjoy being confrontational. I stay in Nelson 15-20 nights per year. What could have been a simple $12 credit is now a loss, upwards of $3200 per year for them, plus negative feedback. The hotel itself is nice but not worth this hassle in my opinion.

If you looking for a nice place to stay not far from the city but not lost in the middle of nowhere, this is it, look no further this place is well located, quiet and have everything you need at a walking distance. The beach is nice and sunny but the water is cold, well there is a heated pool :) Will definitely come back
