Just a basic hotel right off the highway. Check-in was easy. Buildings were older but well-kept. Room was what you'd expect, basic, clean, Only issue was the room had a sliding glass door and pation that had a parking lot/ back area of a neighboring eatery seperated from the hotel by a rundown fence. Place was quiet and seemed safe.

When we arrived there was NO one at the Front desk. We waited for about 15 mins until someone finally showed up. The line was out the door! He apologized and we were taken care of rather quickly. We were given our key card and entered our room which was rather old and dingy. This hotel definitely needs a new face lift! The only reason why this hotel probably gets any business is because of its convenient location to Mystic Aquarium, Mystic Seaport,etc. Anyway I don’t think we’ll ever stay here again.

This is a great location! The property is old and not well kept. Our room was large and spacious but the walls, door, carpet - everything is old and distasteful. The room appeared clean and we smelt the bleach so that was promising. The room is just old and beaten up. The bedding decor had burn holes. The couch was STAINED A LOT. Nothing to brag about but the location is great and the onsite diner is a huge plus. Don’t expect much for appearances. It is smelly and kinda gross. Good water pressure though.

All in all it was ok. The rooms are dated. The bathrooms need to be replaced, my room had no hairdryer on the wall , we were given one when we asked. The fridge and safe have seen better days, the coffee from coffee maker was cold. Needs to be updated for convenience.

you get what you pay for. el cheapo motel. gritty. then, they don't tell you at check-in that you have to ask for housekeeping. so half the time we were there they only came twice. every other day. housekeeping should be standard. after all, what am i paying for???????

If you want a clean basic motel, this is the place. No frills but the price is right and the location is great for the village and aquarium.

Overall, totally fine for 1 night. Staff were pleasant at check-in and check-out. The room/hotel were not the cleanliest, especially since they only wash the linens every 4 days to conserve water. Our room faced the parking lot and an abandoned building next door, and people decided to have a party in the parking lot the morning we were leaving. Again, totally fine for 1 night, close to Foxwoods and a surprisingly very comfy bed!

The room had a hole in the ceiling where rain was coming through making the carpet all wet. There was a ton of hair in the shower that didn’t belong to us, and the room had ants crawling around

It is a very basic hotel. Not pretty outside at all, but the room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and kind. Pool was good, kids loved it. Get an odd numbered room for parking lot side entry. The diner next door was an awesome bonus.

Even for a more budget friendly hotel this hotel really wasn’t good. We wouldn’t return. We booked two rooms. One room had dirty sheets and candy multiple articles of trash on the floor. House keeping only comes once every 4 days and since we were there for 2 none of our cleanliness concerns were addressed. We asked the front desk for towels and clean sheets and we were told we had to go get them ourselves. Upon entering the entrance closest to our room there was a homeless man hiding in the stairwell. The front desk told us he was waiting for a ride, he had booked a room the night before. I feel so much compassion for the man but it scared our young children. The pool, while the pool room was super warm, was ice cold. HoJo used to be a very respected brand of hotel, I can’t see us trying another one any time soon.

So nice and cozy, staff were so nice. Our room was great and great price for the room. Will definitely be coming back. Only 15 mins from Foxwoods great place to stay if you’re looking for a good deal away from the casino.
