Great value for location
We stayed here when we first arrived in Mumbai and enjoyed the property and staff so much, we booked again on our return after touring south India. They just did some facade renovations that came out great in a historic building. Rooms either have attached bathroom or shared hostel type and both settings were clean with hot water. A/C in both rooms was working great. Rooms were both clean for check in. There’s a nice balcony with tables overlooking a busy street to just take in daily life. Hotel manager is very helpful and accommodating for advice or services that you need and the rest of the staff was helpful too. Location is great right behind the Taj hotel with coffee shops and restaurants all in walking distance where you can eat out as budget or as lavash as you want. Would definitely stay here again on a return to Mumbai.

best location for sightseeing!
Excellent location: 3 minutes walk to the Gate of India. Perfect for visiting. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room OK (better with Ac otherwise too hot). WC+shower (attached, as usual here) not clean, hot water not always available. Room price fully OK if considering the location. Many restaurant and cafe for breakfast just outside the hotel. The taxi tour suggested by the hotel is well done and worth it.

My Experience At Carlton
overall it was a nice experience but the room should be improved as it has some cracks, dirty curtains, and the AC switch also sometimes not working and the services are not as good as we expected coz we have to ask for everything thanks...

Location is amazing. Clean Rooms
Exterior and interior of Hotel is vintage. It's behind Taj hotel and walkable distance from Gateway of India. Rooms are neat and clean a spacious one. They give free tea and coffee and there is beautiful common balcony street view. Overall a good stay with helpful staff.

Hole in the wall
A dingy hole in the wall. No ventilation in the rooms. It is more of a dormitory than a hotel. Strictly for low budget travellers.

Not what you expect be careful when you book.
I booked a double room with a bathroom and veiw over Mumbai city. At check-in I was given a room with out a bathroom, no window and a mattres at floor level. When I complained I was told that my window was on the other side of the building down a corridor.

Carlton Hotel очень хорошее расположение, бюджетно, чистота, терраса где можно посидеть выпить чай,кофе ( кофе машина там-же бесплатно) всё в шаговой доступности. Рекомендуем на 3-4 дня.

Complétement déçu...
Je ne suis resté personnellement qu'une seule soirée en arrivant car pas de salle de bain ni de toilettes dans la chambre !!! Et vous n'aviez pas affiché cela sur votre proposition, donc pas logique..... En plus pas propre ! Et le lendemain, j'ai trouvé un autre hôtêl très bien juste à côté et pour 300 roupies indiennes de plus par nuit, c'est à dire pas grand coût du tout... Par contre une personne pour qui j'avais réservé y est restée !! Donc moi écoeuré....
