Also referred to as “Meemu”, Mulaku Atoll is home to giant clams, several species of shark, scorpionfish, stonefish, and colourful reef fish. Nine of the 35 islands are inhabited, with new upmarket resorts pushing visitor numbers along. Approximately 130 km south of Male, the atoll’s dives range from the relatively easy “Giant Clam” through to “Shark’s Tongue”, named after the main attractions and suitable for experienced divers only.
