The location is great and close to the old town of Montreal. The lobby has been well maintained and felt welcoming but the room that I got was a but outdated and dimly-lit. Otherwise, I had no issue with it.

We chose this property on 2 criteria; 1- proximity to everything downtown and 2- the pool. One nailed it, the other not so much. I have a young son, introducing him to swimming was high on my list. Assuming that the pool would close around 9 to 10pm on weekdays (we were there Easter Friday) but no it closes at 7pm week days and 9pm on weekends. To be a family friendly hotel, you need to have better hours than this for the pool. I wouldn’t recommend for young families. Lastly, the parking that’s attached to the hotel is very confusing. If you miss the elevator button that indicates where you need to get out for the hotel, you’ll be completely lost. This happened to us. We ended up in the atrium behind the hotel, there was no signs anywhere how to find it. Finally someone that worked in the area showed us after going in circles for 15 minutes.

I had a great stay at the Intercontinental, the room was clean , quiet and comfortable. The staff greeted you with a smile and were eager to assist with whatever you needed to make your stay more enjoyable. The bar inside the hotel was super convenient for my after Habs game beer. The location was fantastic, it was close to everything. I highly recommend this hotel for your stays in Montreal. One final shout out ...I would also like to thank my server at the bar on Saturday, who went above and beyond the call of duty. The kitchen was closed . However, there was quite a few of us looking for food . So he tossed on the chefs hat and made us all some superb wings. "Merci mon ami !"
