“Exactly right for this price range”

We received a very pleasant welcome when we arrived and the manager, Mr Patel, was quite happy to change our room as the first one was on the ground floor and a bit dark. The second room was overlooking the pool, and it was a little bit noisy until the people left it at dusk, but it was no problem. It was clear that the place has been renovated, and it had the look of a room furnished and prepared by people who cared. Wifi was free, and fast, even at peak times. The fridge was more than adequate, and there was a microwave and ironing board, although we didn't use them. Conveniently located, just off the 101, and only a few minutes' drive from Fishermans Warf and downtown. There's a big shopping centre across the road with everything you could need if you are self-catering and more, including restaurants galore. We just liked the feel of this place.

“Excellent value”

Excellent value for the low price paid- better than expected! The room was clean and comfortable- not a luxury hotel but certainly better than many other hotels I've stayed at where the prices have been much higher. Location also good if you have a car- very close to Monterey and great access from Highway 1. Would stay again.

“Brilliant value for money”

This hotel was great value for money in an easily accessible location - we walked from there to Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row on the day of our arrival, and then drove the short distance to the 17 mile drive and Carmel the following day. The room was clean and comfortable and everything we needed was provided (e.g. shower toiletries, hair dryer etc.). The receptionist was extremely courteous and helpful with our enquiries of the area. The complimentary breakfast provided fresh bread and muffins etc. and was a good time-saving element to set us on our way to make the best of the following day. Overall would totally recommend this hotel.

“Great motel in Monterey”

Room was very clean and comfortable, could get to sleep no problem. The motel was straight across from Del Monte shopping centre, which is very handy for public transport to Carmel, Big Sur, Sand City and Cannery Row. Mike behind the desk was very helpful, he let me use his laptop. It was nice having breakfast outside by the pool, fruit juice, cereals, muffins, toast, pastries and nice coffee. Overall a fantastic hotel, in a good location.

“excellent location”

Good situation within walking distance of the town and also really convenient for Carmel. I love the Del Monte shopping centre opposite. Lovely spacious and well appointed rooms (could do with another mirror though!) Staff very pleasant.

“A good overnight stay in Monterey”

This was the second Super 8 Motel we had stayed at in two consecutive nights and we were somewhat apprehensive as the first had been somewhat dissapointing. In fact this was a very comfortable and clean motel and much better than the first. The room was well equipped and we had a good overnight stay. The Super 8 breakfast is generally no longer anything to get excited about but the breakfast at this motel was at the better end of the Super 8 experience, The choice was reasonable and was regularly restocked. The dining area was very limited in space however. The motel is outside the centre of Monterey but in a convenient location for a stop along the drive down California's coast. Our experience is that the value of Super 8 motels has fallen over the years but this motel sets a standard that others could well try to achieve.

“Very Good Value”

Arrived and were allocated wrong room (standard room) but when we asked for correct room (suite) room was changed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Large clean room. Convenient loaction for fishermans wharf and cannerry row (only short drive) and highway one. Shopping centre opposite with ATM, etc. Breakfast basic but adequate served in reception so few seats but this was never a problem. For the cost very good value.

“Great base for exploring Monterey”

Super 8 Montery met our expections. Hotel was pleasant with a good selection for breakfast.Hotel room was very clean and bed was comfortable. The location was a good base for exploring the area but you did need a car as it was not within walking distance of cannery row and the water front. There was however a mall over opposite the motel with eating options and shopping. Visited the Aquarium which was very good and also did the 17 mile drive and Point Lobos. Point Lobos is one of the most scenic places I have been too- its a must see! All in all, A great stay.

“Great for Monterey attractions.”

Local to the main tourist destinations of Monterey. The room was well equipped and the staff friendly. Breakfast was just continental but good to get us on the road again (we were on a fly-drive holiday).
