The welcoming staff was warm and helpful. Our bedroom was very small. The road to get there was quite challenging. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay right next to the castle.

We had the room next to the hot tub with a balcony overlooking the valley, the cities below and the mountains. Wow, wow, wow! Fort was right next door. Restaurants were available even though it wasn’t high season. We fell in love with Marvão. What a wonderful place

A rustic classic bed and breakfast with a warm hot tub is a nice pavilion on the edge of a cliff. Really quite wonderful. Marvão, of course, is a special, magical place that is not to be missed. Highly recommend.

Nice and well-maintained hotel right next to the Marvão castle. It is a unique experience to visit Marvão's town and castle, and to stay at Dom Dinis.

Close to the castle. The rooms and furnishings are dated. We had a bathtub with a hand held wand not very convenient. They had a nice jacuzzi that you could hook and use which was nice. Not much open. Disappointing stop. One night would have been enough. We stayed 2

Great breakfast, nice oasis in a convenient, walkable, urban setting. Sunset from the rooftop lounge area was an unexpected extra.

Marvao was such a cute mountaintop village with a castle. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. I would suggest asking for a room away from the road since our room was right next to the road and the tire noise was loud on the cobblestones as cars and trucks pasted by. There was no noticeable traffic at night so the room was very quiet then. The staff are excellent. Breakfast was very good. We stayed for two nights and considered our stay as a quiet retreat from our busy Portugal trip. We had a lovely time here.

Muy disfrutable dentro de la ciudad amurallada
Pequeno hotel dentro de la ciudad medieval, conservada en magnificas condiciones. Se puede ingresar en auto teniendo reservacion en el hotel y estacionar en la calle al costado del hotel. Las vistas son magnificas y es preciosa para caminar y recorrer sus calles

absolutely breathtaking views from the terrace and our room and close proximity to the castle. The room was very comfortable. A very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Marvao is not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Hotel service was incredibly helpful. They gave us clear phone directions for parking inside the village and even reserved us a dinner table at their restaurant. Breakfast was on a terrace with the most beautiful view over ever seen. We had an amazing stay!

Gem of a place. We had a room with a view of the valley and Spain in the distance. We loved the area around the hotel. The castle nearby and the old town was quaint but unspoiled.

Overall this is a great little find. It’s basic, perfectly located at the top of the village. Comfy beds, little fridge for cold wine and quaint. Our issues were (room 17) was the air conditioning never got below 24 Celsius, then constantly stopped running. We opened the window, but until 1:00am, the sounds of the staff cleaning the cafe across the street keep you up.

YES to Dom Dinis Marvão!
If you are heading to Marvão THIS IS THE PLACE!! It's that simple. There is another, I think highly rated place next door but, to me, this is the place to stay. The location is AMAZING! The staff were great and even allowed me to check in super early because the room was available. The place was clean and the breakfast was nice; did I mention the location? You can walk to the castle in under 5 minutes, so you can walk there and back throughout the day and night (see Dom Dinis circled in my picture). It's the closest place to the castle, has a nice little outdoor patio area, and there is ample parking

Highlight of our trip! Must stay.
This place earned its superb rating. Our stay here was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Just getting to this hotel is an adventure. Driving through Marvão is incredible! We arrived late during a rainstorm and the whole city was covered by fog - when we woke up the next day and actually saw the castle and town we were stunned. We had the castle to ourselves! Check-in, breakfast, and service for this hotel were all spectacular. As was the history of the place and the room. If you are traveling to Marvão, do yourself a favor and stay here. It’s worth the money. Staying anywhere else will just disappoint you when you see this place.

Very nice hotel in a very interesting little town
Nice hotel, room was a little small, but very nicely done with a great bathroom and shower. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Would hope to have another visit.

The location is hard to match - simply superb. Outstanding staff (thank you Luis) and a character- filled hotel made for a memorable two night stay. If you like exploring and are reasonably fit 2-4 days here could be very rewarding.

Right at the top of Marvao, with parking. Lovely walled town, hotel and staff were excellent. Nicest place we’ve been to in Portugal so far. Very quiet and superb views. Nice bar / cafe to chill in and the resident bird kept the family amused! Town and castle can be done in a few hours, then just enjoy the sights and quiet.
