I have just come back from a short break at the Citric, staying with three other women, and we all loved it. Yes, the hotel is basic, but it is clean and the the staff are very friendly and helpful. We requested a sea view room, and were so glad we paid the extra, the views across the bay were stunning. We booked half board, and were pleasantly surprised at the food, breakfast was typical 'Continental' style, with a good selection, dinner was a set menu, which we were a bit concerned about, but it was tasty, and we all agreed that it was well worth the money, and it meant we tried things that we may not have chosen off a menu. The location was perfect, I was slightly concerned before we arrived that it may be a steep walk up to the hotel, (we had my 82 year old mother with us) but it was fine, a slight incline, but very manageable, and the beach, along with a selction of restaurants could be reached in 5 minutes. The main area of the town was a pleasant stroll, taking about 20 minutes or so, depending on how fast you walk, but if you are anything like us, you will stop many times along the way to have a look at the views, or pop into one of the many shops along the way, so this could take a lot longer. I would most definitely return to the Citric de Soller, but if you are staying in high season, make sure you have a room with air conditioning and a sea view. ****
