The hotel is well located for access to downtown attractions but difficult to load and unload due to very limited space at the entrance and no on premises parking whatsoever. Parking is at a parking structure across the street.
My problem was with the hotel charges. I booked through Expedia which promised a specific total cost including all taxes and fees. At checkout, the hotel charged a higher cost. I brought this to the attention of the hotel desk agent. She was rude and surly and refused to make any correction, despite me showing her my Expedia reservation. She told me I had to take it up with Expedia, while providing no explanation whatsoever as to why the charges were higher than shown in the reservation. She said she’d take it up with her manager and took a copy of my confirmed reservation with the cost promised by Expedia. Two days later the charge was posted to my credit card at the higher cost. I contacted Expedia who were of ZERO help. They took no responsibility at all and told me I had to take it up with the hotel directly, which I told them I had already done. Both sides pointed at the other while both being dishonest.
Separately, I was traveling with a group and we had four rooms. I paid $100 more than my friends who had booked directly with IHG rather than going through Expedia. And they received IHG loyalty program points while I got none. So with Expedia you pay more, get less and have no recourse when the hotel charges you more.
