Great concept, very well built and quite creative with lots of novel ideas. Built 10yrs ago and kept really clean by the current owner. A place we will remember in a very quiet area. Located on the main road, however there were no traffic at all at night. There is no AC, we had a 30C day and the Silo was too warm upon our arrival (one of my fear). However there are fans on both floors that helped cool the place quickly. We had a great night with the patio door open. So no AC was not a worry! A must see IMO.

A unique stay
Very unique but functional accommodation. Loved the hatch opening to see the stars, and the stay was a great experience surrounded with wonderful dining options. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to other couples.

Stayed at this unique eco-friendly hotel made from individual silos, and it was a captivating experience. The host, Rob, was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The cleanliness and comfort were outstanding, and even the details, like the intriguing light switches, added to the charm of the place. A truly memorable stay! A great place to stay while visiting Akaroa and if making your way back to Christchurch the next day making it a quick 50min from town. Limited but great place for food. No need to look any further.

Very cool place, pretty big rooms on 2 floors. We wanted to stay longer, because we liked it so much, unfortunately it was already booked fully. Definitely an experience!

Unique :)

There was nothing we did not like, everything was great. The accomodation was awesome, it was warm and cosy in the Silo, even though it was minus degrees outside. Bed was super comfy. All and all, it was great and we will definitely book again.

WOW!!! amazing architecture design. What a vision to have and to follow through with it. Eco Eco a bonus while still maintaining the luxury. Extremely clean and safety assured. Quirky Functionality
Loved our stay at SiloStay. Quirky but functional and extremely peaceful and restful. Didn't feel like we wanted to leave. Excellent design and full of eco functional features. Top Marks 10/10. Met the owners who are obviously passionate about their creation, and very friendly and helpful with information and advice.

We arrived in Little River but still hadn’t received the access code for key pick up from lockbox. We ended up phoning Helen who drove down .

Great guests, thank you for Silostaying. 8/10 Thanks for the feedback and we have amended our system accordingly so that now someone who books within 24 hours ahead still gets the access code email rather than having to use the freephone at the arrival kiosk, in the event of one of us not being there to welcome at arrival time. If this situation arises again, we will say "you can start unpacking, we'll be there in 3 minutes", but we also know many do prefer the remote access element as well. All food for thought. Thanks again.
