The hotel itself is great, really nice room, and same for the rooftop terrace and pool.
The problem is the reception staff.. From the minute we arrived they were so disinterested, unhelpful and downright difficult to deal with. It felt like there was something going on that they were all aware of but not telling anyone of the 10's of annoyed people in the lobby being delayed at check in. I don't think I've ever been to a hotel where the greeting was so rude and total disinterest in the customer. The final straw was that after checking out 3 days later I realised I'd left something in the room which was important to me, and called them to ask about it. The girl who answered said she would have to talk to housekeeping and couldn't do that until the next day. The next evening, so 24 hours later, I called back and the same girl answered, and told me "I told you I would call you when I speak to housekeeping and I haven't had time to do that yet" as blunt as that. I explained I'll be leaving the country soon and would appreciate if she could do it today, or give me the number to call, and she said she can't predict how many days it will take before she has time so I just need to wait until she calls me. That was over a week ago, and I've now left Portugal so my item is likely gone forever.
The only friendly person during the stay was the guy at the bar counter. Every one of the check in staff were all equally dismissive to me as well as many other guests.
