This is a rather well designed mid fifties building. BUT it has no air conditioning so there is a competition for the few fans they have available. That has to be addressed.

I was surprised at the size of the room for the price I paid. In fact I was surprised at the quality of this hotel for the price I paid. It was amazing, especially being just across the road from the railway station, which I certainly appreciated. Mind you, it is still annoying when the staff speak English when I'm trying to communicate with them in German.

This is a lie !! porky-pie !!
This is NOT a 4 star hotel at all ! This is a big lie ! This place is dirty, super basic, the beds are totally used, the equipment screwed everywhere to hold, the breakfast is worth a motel... The pictures on the internet are many years old and a lie! With a lot of optimism, this could be a 2 star place. @Hotels.com, please immediately clean up such lies from your portal!

We booked this property with insurance through expedia. We attempted to cancel due to medical emergency 18 days prior to date booked. The hotel was non-responsive. Expedia is not honoring the cancelation and has told us we have to make a claim with a third party.

Although very clean, it was very dated & was in need of decorating,it was very tired looking.Although we were on the 5th floor it was very very noisy at night as we were on the front & very hot & as there was NO air conditioning we had to have the window open, though even when it was closed it was still very noisy as belive it was only single glazed!!!Defo needs updating!!! Breakfast was fine.Didnt sleep the first night due to noise!!! Very convienent for the train station, handy location

Large room with kitchenette.
An older, well established hotel, opposite central rsilway station and within walking distance to main sights. Our room eas spacious, with a kitchenette and microwave oven. Would be happy to return to this hotel.

good points: very spacious rooms, convenient walkable location to main station and historic centre, friendly and helpful reception desk downsides: all night road noise and lack of air-conditioning - make sure you take earplugs - fitted kitchen in each room has no utensils or quipment so is useless.

Fine for a short stop near the main station. Room was large with a kitchenette and a large bed, window had been left open and the room was quite cold but warmed up with the window shut. TV wouldn't work but given I was there for last then eight hours didn't matter, decent breakfast too.

Convenient central Location
Hotel is very convenient for the station and many other Leipzig attractions eg art museum, Markt, churches and shopping centres. We stayed at the beginning and end of our weeks visit.Both rooms were very spacious but the first one at the front suffered from traffic noise. It was unusually hot so we would have appreciated a fan, The in room hot drink provisions were poor but the breakfast was sumptuous. Staff were polite and helpful. Nice hotel walking distance to centre
Nice hotel and large room but no air conditioning and we stayed on a very hot night. There is alot of traffic noise so couldn’t have windows open during the night. Parking costs 9 euros for cars and motorbikes.

Our flight from Munich to Leipzig has been cancelled, so we arrived to our hotel one day later. We requested on the 9th June, when we arrived at the hotel from the reception staff, to issue a document showing the cost of the hotel & breakfast on the 8th/9th June. We've been told that this is not a problem. On our last day, we've been told in the morning that the document will be ready to be picked up in the afternoon, instead we did get a hand written letter of apology that they cannot provide such a document. We did find out that the hotel is a private property. Regarding our room, the bed was terribly uncomfortable, with an uncovered wooden frame around - I did get few bruises as a result. Our room on floor 5 was a converted loft, the heat was unbearable, it was a fan in the room, but made not much difference. The standard of the hotel is very low, with an extremely small reception, no computer room, the only good thing was the breakfast. We do not recommend this hotel.

The hotel was easy to find, the staff work hard and are polite. The room was clean and spacious. The only bad part was the smell in the hotel lobby area. I don’t know what was area.There was a bad smell that the staff worked on but couldn’t seem to get rid of it.

Leipzig stay
No air conditioning meant window open. Ring road very noisy all night. However exceptionally clean and excellent breakfast. Room was large and very comfortable.

Selected hotel on basis of comfort/ price and was very happy with the result. The building is perhaps a little lacking in character, but as a single traveller on a budget making a short stay, that wasn't a problem for me. Desk staff were excellent, unfailingly welcoming and patient with my lack of German language. Typically for Germany, the breakfast buffet provided a wide range of simple tasty food. Very interesting city with rich musical and political history, which can be experienced through the superb Opera house and concert hall, several museums and historic houses. Fascinating mixture of buildings from the many stages in the city's development over the past 500 years. Try getting out of the centre into the more residential areas

Unprofessional hotel management!
The hotel is basically good, but we had a horrible problem with the front desk. I was leading a group of 15 students and there was no laundry price list in the rooms or at the front desk. When we asked about prices, the person at the desk told four of us that "he thought" it was priced by the bag and he quoted a rather reasonable per bag price to us. When the students got their laundry back, the price was anywhere from three to four to five times the price that was quoted! When I asked to speak with a manager, one was never available and none of them had the courtesy to call me as I had requested to try to find a solution. The young people running the front desk were of no help and one of them was incredibly rude. We never resolved the problem, so the poor students was held hostage and forced to pay the enhorbitant price - everyone was furious. One of the student could have purchased all new clothes for the price she paid to have her laundry cleaned! We had laundry lists in every hotel we stayed in before and after Leipzig. The management of this hotel is very unprofessional and this experience ruined our stay in Leipzig - we will never again return to this hotel and we strongly recommend you avoid it.

Do NOT have your laundry done at this hotel!
I had a group of 15 stay here for four days. This hotel is basically very good and, if all had gone well, I would have given them a high 4 star rating. But we had a major problem and it was due to the fact the hotel does not publish their laundry price list like ALL good hotels in Europe. We were told an incorrect approximate charge per bag by a very kind staff member who was trying to be helpful but should have never said anything about the price. When the laundry was delivered, the prices were outrageous and the most expensive I have ever seen for one bag of laundry - one bag was three figures! (unfortunately, we are not permitted to put specific prices in reviews!) The person charged the highest price, could have purchased new clothes for less money than the cost of the cleaning! I tired three time to see a manager to resolve the problem but they were always busy or not available; I requested they call me and I was never contacted. There was no manager on duty when we checked out. The night before I tired to speak with a manager and a very rude front desk employee told me there was no one available and there was nothing she could do - to my knowledge, she was the only one on duty and was representing the hotel. After I insisted, she called an assistant manager who told her to tell me there was noting that could be done. I found this very unprofessional. After this experience, hopefully they will provide a price list for laundry services in the future.

Not a 4* by a long way
The two key themes were a lack of facilities and poor service. 1. Unfriendly welcome on check in - dingy, small front reception. Had our details wrong. 2. Asked for an iron and ironing board. Thrice. Finally had to go down to reception and ask them to fetch me one while I waited. Got the iron but the ironing board was too much of an ask. 3. Booked a room with kitchenette. When we got there the kitchenette wasn't working. Asked three people over three days and got three different responses. Fourth response - "Well, of course it isn't working, it's not installed." Was finally begrudgingly sorted on day 4 of our stay. Given this is why we booked this room in the first place, this was infuriating. 4. However no cooking utensils or cutlery was provided rendering it useless. We almost moved out at this point but had paid in advance. 5. Our room was supposed to come with a 'coffee/tea maker'. Turns out this was a kettle. 6. Our room was supposed to come with 'climate control'. Turns out this was opening the windows as there were no fans, no aircon, and it was 34 degrees all week. It was horribly unpleasant. 7. Breakfast wasn't of the quality one would expect at a 4* hotel. To be fair, nothing was. All in all what should have been a relaxing family holiday was unnecessarily stressful. This is the worst 4* hotel we have ever stayed in. Needless to say we won't be coming back.

Hotel looks amazing on the outside, needs updating
Rooms information were not accurate. We needed one night stay for 6 people. We were given a Family Suite for 4 people and we had to request another room for the other 2 people. When we arrived to the rooms we realized the Suite was huge, it would have fit us all. Two separate rooms, 2 double beds and 1 sofa bed would have slept the 6 of us. The Hotel looks amazing on the outside, but needs updating in the rooms. Breakfast was ok. Location was amazing. We just needed to sleep there for one night.

Perfect location
Everybody made us feel very welcome. Staff were really friendly. We had a huge room with a very big, comfortable bed. Breakfast in the room on a Sunday morning was a real treat. We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for day trips into other cities like Dessau. Great hotel, we would certainly book again.

All the charm of East Germany 27 years later
The hotel was adequate but no more, 1 1/2 or 2 stars at most. Great view out the window of the loud street and street cars. Very friendly front desk staff, very stoic breakfast staff. Also the cover photo is very misleading, the hotel is more like a low priced motel in quality and comfort
