Top La Mesa Hotel Reviews

Lafayette Hotel & Club
8/10 Good
"Stayed here with my girlfriend for a 2 night girls trip. The hotel is visually stunning and not a detail is spared. Check in; the bell hop was helpful. But there are no bell carts. There was a $38 per night parking fee I wasn’t aware of. At check in, the staff was friendly, but the woman who checked us in spoke very fast and when giving directions to our room was unclear. She also didn’t offer assistance with our large luggage and she did with other guests prior to us. So we had to lug the luggage down the pool stairs and go find our room. We didn’t realize there wouldn’t be a ramp or elevator. The double queen pool room is amazing and again, beautifully designed. There is no coffee pot, just a hot water warmer and instant coffee. But the front desk does have coffee in the morning and the diner is 24 hours, and it’s not a far walk. If you want a chaise by the pool on a busy day or industry Mondays, you have to save your chaise by about 6:30am. And they will only let you save it for 45 mins with a towel or items, so you cannot retreat to your room for more than that. But the vibe by the pool with the DJ was fun and we had a great time. There is poolside drinks and food. The service was spotty throughout the hotel. We had good service in some areas and not in others. So I’m not sure if they have continuity in their customer service training. The worst was at the Quixote restaurant and at times, the front desk. All in all a great stay, and would stay again."

Best Western Seven Seas
8/10 Good
"There are no microwaves in the room which was a bummer"

Hard Rock Hotel San Diego
4/10 Poor
"We have stayed at Hard Rock a few time but this time was by far the worst. No water pressure, ac barely worked, poor quality blackout curtains, sink didn't drain, pool hours close at 9pm and do not start until 7pm on Saturday. The restaurant food at Mary Janes was very low quality, the patty melt burger was a slider size patty on a patty size bun. Staff was not very friendly or helpful. I hope they make some improvements. It is outdated and needs an update if they want to continue to charge high end prices. There are many hotels in the area that are far better quality for the price. We stayed there because we were attending a show at Petco and it is close to walk but I recommend stayinh at the Hilton or the Marriot instead for the price."

Crowne Plaza San Diego - Mission Valley by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Great location and amenities. Rooms were clean. Grounds were well maintained."

Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego
2/10 Terrible
"Not worth the price. More like a 3 star hotel. No lifeguards at pool. Very disappointed use to go here a lot."

Wyndham San Diego Bayside
10/10 Excellent
"Amazing service!"

The Alcala Hotel Mission Valley/Seaworld
4/10 Poor
"The floors in the room were dirty, covered in sticky stuff and dirt. After asking the front desk if someone could come up and clean it they assured us it would be, but it never happened after 2 nights of being there. I don’t usually complain or leave reviews on places but this one is based off of principle."

Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"Top notch accommodations, beautiful property that lives up to the hype. Staff was gracious and helpful at every turn, and each experience provided considerable value for each premium memory. Will be back for years to come!"
