"Extremely disappointed with our stay at La Jolla Cove Suites. We traveled to La Jolla to celebrate one of the most important milestones in our family’s life—our grandson’s graduation. Unfortunately, our experience at this property turned what should have been a joyful occasion into a frustrating and disappointing one.
The room we were assigned was small, dirty, outdated, and felt much more like an old motel than a hotel. The furniture and accommodations were worn and in need of significant updating. It was certainly not what we expected based on the photos and price we paid.
As senior citizens, we were especially upset that we were placed in a room on the interior side of the property that required excessive walking and navigating numerous stairs. No consideration seemed to be given to our age or mobility. The distance and number of stairs made it extremely difficult for us to get in and out of our room.
In fact, the physical demands of accessing our room became such a challenge that we were unable to attend our grandson’s graduation events as planned. Missing such a special family occasion is something we can never get back, and it was heartbreaking.
To make matters worse, other members of our family who stayed at the hotel and paid the exact same rate were assigned beautifully remodeled, modern rooms that looked nothing like ours.
