Short walking distance to the all the main hot spots like Karawaramachi and Nishiki shopping areas, Gion and Pontocho but removed enough that it was a quiet location to retreat to. There's no laundry onsite but you can use the one in a nearby Kabin hotel or the public laundromat on the corner.

Loved the property. It’s smaller than I expected but it’s pretty standard for a Kyoto location. No complaints at all. Would also note that this specific Kabin location is very private. The larger one nearby is full of tourists and we enjoyed the privacy.

Bigger than usual hotel. Nice King bed. Hotel was modern and clean. Fridge in room. Microwave in lobby. Laundry services at sister property 1 min walk away. Location is near all the shopping and restaurants in Kyoto.

Disappointing
The accommodation was advertised as an apartment when it’s just a room. No daily cleaning or room service was provided and even for check in, one has to do everything. The main hotel was a short distance away and although the staff in the reception were afable, they were not very much helpful when it came to help with restaurant booking. It seems like one of those modern concepts in which the guest is pretty much responsible for every arrangement in order to save money to the company. That said, the room was not that cheap and as mentioned before, very misleading and disappointing to find all that only after arrival . I would not recommend to stay at this place

We loved it so much that we decided to stay longer. Very comfortable, clean and quiet. The sister property, only a block away, has great coffee and breakfast too. Close to Gion and 10 minute walk for the metro. Highly recommended! ❤️👍

The property belongs to a small group within the vicinity. All share amenities from fitness, laundry, breakfast salon, etc. easy walk from each location. Located on a quiet block with minimal vehicle traffic. Rooms are very clean and quiet.great lounge areas to regroup and recharge.

Amazing hotel and outstanding service. Not only is this hotel located walking distance from some of Kyoto's main attractions, but it's also a true gem. The furniture, decor, attention to details and great service will make your stay at Enso Ango Tomi 1 a real pleasure. We felt at home and would have loved to prolong our stay. Overall, the best hotel we stayed at during our 18-days trip through Japan!

Superb location, modern and yet very Japanese, incredible choice of kaiseki-style Japanese breakfast or Spanish tapas-style buffet to chose from; lounge filled with coffee, tea, refreshments, snacks and cereals for those who chose not to have breakfast included; five sister-hotels in the same neighborhood, friendly speedy service, a gem discovery for a family of five. Perhaps the BEST new hotel in Kyoto and we shall return!

Our stay in Enso Ango in Kyoto was simply marvellous. From its cleanliness, nice modern decoration in fusion with the old to caring and wonderful staff, this place is a must in Kyoto. Centrally located and close to all main avenues and tube stations make this hotel very accessible. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

The room was well-designed within the Japanese constraints of space. The bed was firm; the toilet was the fancy kind with multiple controls and its own mind. The staff was, as one gets so used to in Japan, efficient and very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet, included in the price, was excellent, with upwards of 15 choices, all evoking Spanish tapas but very Japanese (we didn't try the traditional Japanese breakfast since it involved climbing a few steps). There is also a lounge with snacks and hot tea and coffee, all day. Finally, free "cooking lessons" from 4 to 5 pm where a chef shows how the dish of the day (okonomiyaki and takoyaki in our case) is made. Not to forget that while both Tomis are located very centrally, just a couple of blocks from Shijo, the area is very quiet. We spent a very happy week there.

Excellent stay at Enso Ango Tomi I
The experience was fantastic with a speaker and tablet which you can be connected to the local television programs or the internet as there was no TV provided. High standard of cleanliness and the room was comfortable and spacious. The hotel employees were able to converse well in English. In addition there were yoga, meditation and cooking classes provided. Overall it was a wonderful experience for us.

Great stay in Kyoto
Easily one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had during any of my travels. Pros: - The staff are attentive, thoughtful, and accommodating. - The facilities (including a guest lounge and kitchen) are immaculate, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. - The room was clean, spacious, and stocked with a thoughtful arrangement of amenities that were constantly replenished. - The complementary breakfast was simple, but provided all the essentials for a day out exploring Kyoto (protein, carbs, fat, and of course coffee). - The rooms were equipped with a touchscreen tablet interface for media, front desk calls, outgoing phone calls, etc. When ours went on the fritz the staff went to great pains to repair it at our convenience. - Personally, I loved the nightgown provided and wore it at every opportunity. Who knew pantsless nightwear was so comfortable! - Special thank you to Atsushi for his efforts to repair our tablet. Cons: - My only minor gripe was that many taxi drivers seemed to have a hard time finding the hotel. This may have been due to communication barriers though. Overall, my stay at Enso Ango Tomi 1 really made my stay in Kyoto that much more special and I would recommend this to any traveler to Kyoto.

Charming Hotel & Innovative Concept
Fantastic hotel and an innovative concept, with several small buildings in a centrally-located neighborhood, each with common areas to use. Great service and decor, charming.

new building, modern design, high quality amenities, English speaking staff, great coffee in the lounge, programs and events (although I didn’t attend any). Location is great too. The feel was sleek, young, modern, hip. Loved the tea kettle, teapot, the sleepwear, the jbl Bluetooth speaker. They also store your bag before check in. Highly recommend - it is super nice
