Great hotel, not handicap friendly
The hotel is beautiful. The surrounding areas does not have much to do except hiking. The bad thing about this hotel is that it’s not handicap accessible. It seems that throughout Europe accessibility is not a main priority too many stairs not enough elevators.

Great staff
We stayed for two nights recently. The rooms were a little tired (but was clean) and unfortunately there was no air con in our room. The staff however were excellent and the food for dinner and breakfast was very good. The views over Frankfurt are stunning.

Nice hotel and surrounding area - a little outdated but charming - it was the little things that were not so great like the service at the restaurant at dinner which wasn’t good or the fact that we had to ask several times for additional towels. Overall a nice place.

Beautiful and relaxing.
Simply the most courteous staff and professional hospitality I have received at any hotel. The room was clean, modern, and very welcoming. The view of nearby Falkenstein Castle is stunning and the town that surrounds this location is beautiful and peacefully quiet. My wife and I were truly impressed by each detail and every effort made by the staff to make us feel at home. I will absolutely be staying here again!

Laid back luxury hotel with great breakfast
Very good Hotel with a laid back luxury flair. Partly dated when staying in one of the smaller single bed rooms but extremely spacious when staying in one of the apartment suits. Great breakfast and great premises. Spa is ok-ish but mich better than anything to be found around north of Frankfurt and more than sufficient for a business and weekend trip

Nice place to stay
This is a lovely hotel, with enormous rooms, a nice pool, and fabulous terrace. Most of the staff was very gracious and eager to help— while a couple of the younger employees had a bit to learn... We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the terrace, and an afternoon swim. We were upgraded to a giant room! Only drawbacks were very slow Wi-Fi, and outdated electrical in the rooms— would have been nice to have a charger station and a iPhone speaker. But overall a wonderful stay.

Wonderful place to stay. My family spent 3 nights here after a busy two week trip through Italy then Germany. Very relaxing way to end our vacation. My kids thought the included buffet breakfast was the best of all the places we stayed. From the excellent views from our balcony, to the pool, to the evening turn down service, we all felt very spoiled here. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in this area.

Nice hotel and wonderful location, allowing you to walk in the Taunus hills pretty much right from when you exit the hotel. Good service overall, except for breakfast. (Breakfast service was quite slow and on our final day, the tea water only lukewarm. Presumably, the reason was that throughout the weekend we stayed there, they had more visitors than expected. Staff tried hard to make up for it.) The spa area is nice, if a touch small. (There is one, quite small, Finish sauna and one 60-65 degree bio sauna few people used, leading to the Finish sauna to get fairly crowded at times; a steam room would have been nice.) The gym is in a different building, accessible through a fairly long, underground pathway. For a hotel in this category, the cardio equipment is a little limited and well-worn. The bar and the hotel park are very nice indeed.

DEFINES "GEMUTLICHKEIT"!
Sorry its been 3 months since we stayed there but I have been busy! It was our 40th anniversary and the staff was OUTSTANDING! While it does cost a bit more but the service and ambiance are worth it! The concierge was GREAT as I had some car rental issues that were resolved with their kind assistance. Its a GREAT little town away from the hustle and bustle! HIGHLY recommend this hotel and ask for room 4209

Fantastic place to stay
Great hotel in a gorgeous location. Staff is very courteous and it’s a short drive to Frankfurt for business meetings. Only issues are that the breakfast buffet is pricey at 32 euros, my king size bed only came with twin comforters (I asked), and the WiFi is glacial in speed. Those reasons prevented me from giving a lower score on comfort.

My reservation was for 3 superior rooms. Upon arrival, they told me that they upgraded me to apartment rooms. After seeing the rooms which were in a separate building, I refused their upgrades as the apt's were smelly and too big for me. I demanded that they give me my reservation rooms. They said that these are the superior rooms. I showed them a pic from my Orbitz reservation. They said that they don't post pictures and the pic was for a deluxe room with a view and they will give it an extra €50/room/night. After talking to the duty manager, I had to accept as I was tired driving 5 hours from Amsterdam. They made me an extra €100/night for the 3 rooms.

Very nice but could use a couple of updates
This is a historic hotel that was originally a psychiatric hospital. It is beautifully decorated inside and it has lovely gardens with view of Frankfurt. The staff is helpful and the onsite restaurants are nice. The conference facilities are well tended with coffee and snacks throughout your business meetings. The only thing I didn’t like is the interior of the room which could use some updates. The beds are small and have only one pillow and only one comforter (no sheets!). The comforter is tiny and it doesn’t feel like you are covered the same way you would be in a typical bed. The power outlets could be better organized. Overall it is too “vintage”.

Nice hotel to rest, breath fresh air.
Far away from the airport but perfect for couples or families who want to rest. The gardens are beautiful! The spa seems pretty good. The restaurant is very good and excellent cuisine. But the service was slow! I think is an excellent choice if you want to escape from noise and the city

Got the hotel using points from Expedia's VIP coupon and stayed a couple nights in a suite with the full intention of hanging out and relaxing. Staff was great. Room was comfortable. Pool was a little on the small side, but didn't get much use so we were ok. Sauna was nice. The Jacuzzi was nice, but it was inside, would have been better outside or in the sauna area. Saw reviews about a lack of A/C, but we definitely had A/C, just needed to turn it on which was easy just like a normal A/C thermostat. View of Frankfurt was surprisingly great. The dinner was delicious. The Breakfast had a pretty decent spread, and it is worth getting if included. If not included, I don't think it would be worth €32. TVs had over 200 channels and an available HDMI port we hooked our laptop up to for movies (bluray/Netflix).

PROS: Beautiful hotel with lots of history. Location is breathtaking. Sits up on a hill overlooking Frankfurt. The Frankfurt skyline is to die for at night. Hotel sits on lots of property, tucked out of the hussle and bussle of Frankfurt. Very peaceful and relaxing. Pool & hot tub overlooking the Frankfurt skyline as well. Room service exceeded expectations. Upon check in, was given the chance to upgrade room to a skyline view room, worth it for €100 more. Large room with A/C that made it seem like it wasn't 100 degrees outside! Bathroom had double sinks with a bathtub/shower combination. Control of all lights in room was in each night stand. Multilingual staff. AMAZING stay, no complaints on my end.

Quirky hotel with below average service
Overall we had an enjoyable stay but that was largely to do with good weather. The hotel was nice but not what I would consider to be 5 star in terms of the level of service provided. There was non-one to help with bags on arrival and the restaurant staff were slow and some were surly. We won't be returning but if you don't mind a quirky level of service it's a nice location if overpriced for what you get.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying here. After arriving very early at the Kempinski we were told that our room wasn't ready. They did however upgrade us to a suite which was fantastic. The only downside to this was the room did not come with tea/ coffee making facilities. Might seem like a small thing, but after a long day it would have been nice to have a cup of something. They did supply us with a kettle, but no cups, tea or coffee was available. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The setting up in the hill over looking Frankfurt and the surrounds combined with the friendliness of the staff made it a most enjoyable short break! I would also highly recommend the local Italian restaurant Fiorento! Best Italian I've had in ages!
