"This is one of the best hotels we have ever visited. The communication from the staff was so swift and efficient with Mr Adnan Asaz responding to my emails a few weeks prior to our visit with astonishing alacrity. A pick-up from the airport was waiting for us on arrival in Kolkata and on reaching the hotel many of the staff were there to great us including general manager Natasha. What a friendly hotel!"

"Initially given room on ground floor without windows in bedroom, and only a frosted glass window in the bathroom. Not happy with room, were given a room upstairs which was much better. Vintage plumbing but fully functional, furniture all somewhat dated but everything clean. Fascinating faded colonial charm about establishment, interesting period photos on walls of lounge. Excellent buffet breakfast, helpful and friendly waiting staff."

"This is a very beautiful historical property. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping was on top of making sure the room was clean along with water, tea, and coffee stocked daily. Bicky is amazing at taking care of the room and makes sure everything is perfect when he cleans the room. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again for future visits to Kolkata."

"I have to give them 5* just for the location and the great staff. From reception to housekeeping and security, everybody is very friendly and trying their best. The property itself is tired. No lobby or lounge as such, no elevator. I saw some elderly people struggle on the stairs. Their traditional suites are larger rooms with a small couch. The heritage is there but I would rate the property an average 2* and it is overpriced."

"The staff here are super helpful and the hotel is in a great location for sightseeing (walkable to the Victoria Memorial and Mother Theresa House, short taxi to the train station ). Lovely outside restaurant and bar. Decir a bit dated but you can’t fault the staff or the location."
