I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. The little cottage I had was very nice and comfortable. The bathroom was great. There were 6 windows, and it was nice to open for some of the cooler breezy mornings. The ac worked great. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed my table and chairs on the porch for working at sometimes. Having a tea kettle is always a plus.
The majority of the other guests were from Russia, and I made a couple of friends, while learning my first few Russian words. It was always quiet, with the exception of the occasional child's cry or laughter.
In the mornings & evenings, as I laid in bed, I could hear the crashing of the waves, along with insects, birds and monkeys (?)
It was a short walk to the beach, and China town. You could find foods from EVERYWHERE! I ate at a French bakery a few blocks away, and a fantastic Indian restaurant, just a couple of doors down. I try to eat mostly local foods, and there were plenty of those too.
The island wasn't as expensive as I'd expected, and I enjoyed it a lot.
I've spent nearly 3 months in Thailand in just over a year, and I would definitely return here!!
