Firstly, the hotel doesn't really look like what the pictures display online. The room I chose on Expedia is different than the one we were checked into...a much smaller balcony with 2 tiny chairs & a little table, barely enough room for the 2 of us to relax on.
Also, it's right on the main drag, so our view of the ocean wasn't as serene as the pictures make it seem.
Our shower tile floor had a lot of mold in the grout, but the rest of the room was pretty clean, and our coffee maker didn't work so we had to call out for a replacement.
When we checked in we were hit with a surprise "resort fee" of an extra $25 a night...and* they hit you with another deposit for that*. I asked what it was for and the gentleman at the desk said it was for things like Wi-Fi and the such, but isn't the actual cost of the room supposed to cover such things? So for 4 nights, I was charged another $165, 50 of which I would get back after checkout. If you need more money to cover basic things like Wi-Fi, just include it in the room fee so that people aren't dishing out more money for unexpected "fees".
Also, when we walked over to the lobby to talk to them about why the fee was so high for 4 nights, there was an older gentleman (I'm assuming a guest at the hotel) that was watching LIVE PORN on the lobby guest computer.
My husband & I were on our anniversary vacation, so witnessing something like that was pretty off-putting. If we had children and they were with us, I would've been livid.
