We stayed in Hotel Layalina for two nights - one at the beginning of our trip to Southern Thailand, and one night a week later before flying to Bangkok - and we couldn't recommend the place more! The hotel is *very* comfortable, and clean. The location blew my mind - so close to the beach. The staff were amazing - so kind, courteous and helpful. They organised multiple transfers for us. I'm not a big fan of Kamala Beach as a whole - and I wouldn't necessarily go back there but if I did I'd definitely stay in Layalina again!! Thank you so much!!!

Staying in Kamala
A wonderful stay in Kamala. Staff was excellent, views are some of the best in the area. Location could not have been better. The only thing I feel would be an improvement would be if they were to change the breakfast menu. Staying for a number of days the menu got a little old but I must say the breakfast was excellent all the same. Had a wonderful time. All and all I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stay in Kamala.

It was ok, not great for the price, I get it was high season but still, the hotel is ok. Breakfast is very limited. Location is good, nice restaurants and beach.

Excellent hotel right on the beach.
Wonderful hotel, as close to the beach as you can get without actually sleeping on it. Amazing view from the room over the ocean, which was lovely to wake up to every morning. The staff are all excellent and attentive, check in was quick and I was shown around my room as part of the arrival process. Check out was also swift and easy. I would love to come and stay again some day.

Staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast delivered to room each morning was a nice touch. Convenient location. Shower water pressure is a bit weak, otherwise an overall wonderful stay.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay here! The hotel is right on a quiet beach, and we could enjoy our breakfast on our private balcony. The spa tub and king-sized bed were exactly as advertised. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome - we will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful and safe place. It’s surrounded by restaurants, food markets and nice people willing to help you to get around. The massages are only $8 dollars per hour😊 there many places where you can get one. If you are looking for a place to relax, this is the place.

The location for the hotel is perfect. The are is very quiet with a very beautiful beach. The are is also family friendly with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The staff there were very helpful, friendly, spoke very good english, and took care on any issue that came up. Make sure to rent a motorbike to save money instead of using taxis, unless you are going far away from the hotel. The hotel is only 10 minutes from the main mall on the island and the Pattaya bar area. Down the road from a 7/11. This is a perfect location if you want a relaxing vacation on the beach.

The hotel is located right on Kamala beach, at an end of the beach to almost feel like it is a private beach. Amazing location with an amazing view of the sunset. Stayed there for 3 nights in Aug-2019. My concerns with the hotel are: 1. They do not have a bar, or serve alcohol. We need to get our own booze from the nearby 7-11. 2. Breakfast will be served in room, on the balcony (which is amazing with the sea view in the morning). The problem being we have to give our requirements the night before and the time at which it should be served. I'd rather prefer a buffet breakfast at whatever time I wake up on during a vacation. 3. The staff was least helpful in arranging for any of the activities. They did not seem too interested in getting us to do anything other than stay there comfortably, which is not all I want from a vacation stay. But overall the facility is good. The staff is very friendly and did everything to make our stay over there as comfortable as possible.

The view of the hotel was the best thing. Waking up to the view of the beautiful beach was the best ever and of course the nice staff. Although we were shocked when we got to the hire to see that the entrance is basically a little gutter in between 2 buildings like there is no street entrance and a loading area to get off the car and bring your stuff down. There was some kind of smell in the hotel as it is located before a seafood place and every time you walk in or out there was a pile of trash on the side of the narrow entrance where there are motorbikes lined up for rent. The food was okay not special and lacked spices. The room inside and walls looked old and a little worn out Although for people who are on a budget that might be a good place. We stayed for our honeymoon 4 nights there after spending sometime on Panwa beach at a much nicer and cleaner hotel and honestly we regret it. We thought by moving to a different part of the island we would see more. But it was a mistake.

4 Days in Phuket
Hotel staff very accommodating to all your needs. Breakfast served either on the terrace or in your room a very nice touch. Enjoyed the in room massage service. Would definitely recommend and revisit this hotel.

Superb stay at Kamala
Fabulous hotel ! The staff was super friendly, rooms were spacious and comfortable; and the location - literally 15 steps from the beach, couldn’t be better. We didn’t want to leave !

Waterfront. Nice staff. Very. The entrance looks dodgy. Inside it’s simple. The rooms are cool 2 level with upper loft. Say nude sun bathing. And open outdoor shower. Lower levels have nice open concept. Big bath. Clean. Tea lights lit. Hammock for the front to lay out and be ocean front on your deck. The pad Thai was the best I have had in Thailand. Close to everything. If you stay on the river side. Wear tons of mosquito spray. I let my son sleep outside on the hammock. He was eaten alive literally and went to the doctors. Just wear the spray and have fun! Beach front. Pool. Boutique.

overall we had a pleasant stay. the main reason we chose this hotel was it's proximity to the beach. the staff are friendly and helpful. the hotel is too expensive though, I have paid the same amount and stayed at better resorts in Phuket. I can't complain on anything but will probably look for cheaper alternatives that include the same comfort next time.

Very nice, small hotel on the beach.
It is one of the gems on Phuket: right on the beach (Kamala) with very easy walking to all sorts of restaurants, shops, etc. The street of the Kamala beach is happening right behind the hotel. The place is calm and very comfortable with an amazing staff.

Small hotel on the beach in Kamala
The four of us spent a few days in Layalina hotel in Kamala beach after our tour of Thailand. It is in a quiet location. Rooms are spacious and very nice, comfortable beds. Hotels staff was very helpful. We ordered tour to Phi Phi island right from the front desk. Good breakfast was delivered from the restaurant next door.

We had two nights confirmed reservation but upon arrival they stated they didn't have us on their list. Then they did, but had no rooms. Then they had an apartment and then a crummy room. We stayed one night and had to leave. Very shady operation! A guest at breakfast said she had also been told she wasn't on their list also!!

Very nice Boutique hotel on beach with great view
Overall excellent staff, very helpful and room was 1st. class. Pool is small and little or no other facilities but all was extremely clean and well maintained. If you need a taxi ask for Mr. TEWA at taxi stand about 50-100 meters away his prices are negotiable and he is pleasant and a very safe driver. He also didn't try to take us to tourist traps as many drivers will do to get commission.

Great stay in a boutique hotel
I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is right on the Kamala beach so location is fab. The staff is incredibly helpful and given I was travelling alone , made me feel comfortable and safe. It is however a boutique hotel and not a resort. So don't expect a lot of ameneties ( eg: no restaurant or spa in the hotel, bathroom not well stocked) . Also the front of the hotel is on a narrow street so can initially look a tad shady from the outside. Kamala is the quieter part of Phuket unlike Patong so not much to do at night here. Do book the upper storey room with balcony, well worth the extra price.
