"The staff here is absolutely wonderful. They were so kind and helpful. We had one of the smaller rooms, but still way more spacious than something in Tokyo within our price range. The room and private bath were so beautiful. We ordered the Japanese dinner and breakfast and it is a must if you stay here! You’ll try foods authentic to Nara specifically and the amount you receive is more than plenty. Would highly recommend this stay to anyone even for just one night, as that is what we did to relax...

"What an incredible place: it's where restoration meets renovation! We were upgraded to 404, which was a HUGE old warehouse that contains modern necessities. The smell of the wood, especially in the bath, is very pleasant. This place has no TV and no clock -- 100% unplugged. In addition, the service was excellent. "

"amazing place that comes with hot tub room that one can booked for personal use with a view on the skiing slope. amazing location if you are into skiing. the bad part of the hotel is that path to the hotel are covered by snow and it is not obvious to visitors if you are there for the first time and have to drag your luggage through the thick snow. "The hotel is above a little restaurant. Meals are not included, but they are very good traditional Japanese food. The place is literally right behind the Biei train station, which is an ideal location for pretty much everything. The owners didn't speak too much English, but I was able to make due with my limited Japanese. The AC in the room was weak, but being Hokkaido all I had to do was open the window with the screen and my room was perfect."

"First os all, we would like to apologize for such a delay in rating the Sukabura Inn, especially since we had a wonderful experience. The owner, Hiro, was attentive, helpful and cooked a superb breakfast (Japanese and Western!). We had good bikes to ride around the island, and the inn was at a very quiet part of the already peacful island, so we could hang out at the porch just listening to the wind and birds. The excellent bathroom was always clean, as was the room, which had effective A/C lots...
