We absolutely loved our stay. We received a friendly welcome, great restaurant suggestion which we enjoyed & loved watching a movie . The wee extras were very much appreciated. Breakfast was superior with home made stewed fruit, jams & bread. Poached eggs were made to perfection. Bed was soo comfy. A stunning bnb. Thank you

Excellent accommodation and breakfast.
Very welcoming. Excellent friendly hosts. Lovely bedroom, Sitting Room and Bathroom. All well equipped and comfortable. Pleasant walk into town through the park. Breakfast was great ( especially the homegrown rhubarb with muesli and yoghurt).

Second stay in the last week on our way back from Stewart Island. Noel and Diana are fantastic hosts and I wouldnt stay anywhere else whilst in Invercargill. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Villa Rouge: January 2024
This is our second time staying at Villa Rouge. Diana and Noel are welcoming hosts, accomodating our every need. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and Noel puts out a wonderful spread for breakfast. Would strongly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Invercargill.

An absolute gem.
This beautiful boutique b&b was an amazing find. The property, built in c1910 is tastefully decorated, in keeping with the style of the time and provides comfortable, spacious accommodation for the lucky traveller to enjoy. Your hosts, Noel and Diana have owned the house for 50 years and welcome you into their home as if you were one of the family. There are restaurants within walking distance and shopping only a short drive away and Noel and Diana will happily provide you with helpful tips on where to eat and things to do in the area. I cannot recommend the Villa Rouge highly enough. You will not be disappointed.

This beautiful bed and breakfast is a real treat for the senses - gorgeous decorations and very kind and friendly hosts who serve up a delicious breakfast in a proper breakfast room. It was tempting to curl up on the window seat in the adjacent library with a good book and a cosy fire - perfect for a rainy day!

My wife and I have stayed at many Air BnB’s in many countries. Villa Rouge is by far and away the best place we have ever stayed at. If you are in Imvercargill and don’t stay at Villa Rouge, you will miss out on one the the finest B&B’s in New Zealand. The accommodations were very welcoming, lovely and spacious. The hosts were generous with their time and gave great suggestions. The breakfast was exquisite. Every morsel was tastier than the last. If we could give the Villa 10 smiles we would. Do yourself a favor, spend time at Villa Rouge it will be a marvelous stay. Many thanks to our hosts, they are special people with a special home.

Super stay
We had a very warm welcome from Diana and Noel. Nothing was too much trouble. The house is an absolute delight. Lovely room. Super bathroom. Breakfast was a teeny weeny bit early for our holiday mode, but it just gave us more time to enjoy our day, so not a problem. Highly recommend Villa Rouge.

We had a lovely stay at Villa Rouge. The room was beautifully decorated, tea and coffee facilities excellent, the bathroom was luxurious and we even had our own lounge room with a large selection of films on offer, viewed on a huge screen. The breakfasts were lovely. Our hosts, Noel and Diana, are delightful and great company. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Rouge. Highly recommended!

The property was very homely, comfortable and well appointed with tea and coffee making facilities and home baking in the bedroom. The hosts, Noel and Di, were very friendly and helpful with good suggestions of where to see and where to eat. I liked the fact that we had the front half of the house to ourselves with our own parlour/lounge with a home movie screen and an pen fire making it very homely and relaxing. The bedroom was large and the bed very comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was also large, modern and well appointed with bath and shower. The property has two bedrooms which are only let out to families or friends travelling together so you are not sharing your facilities with strangers.

Extraordinary and a must stay experience
Words and images cannot relay how much we have enjoyed our stay with Noel and Diana at their Bed and Breakfast. Great engaging hosts in their c.1910 villa which is warm and extremely comfortable with modern mod cons. The interior rooms ( bed rooms, movie room, breakfast room, kitchen, entrance hall, library) have so much tastefull attention to detail that it's a marvellous world of art gallery discovery in every room. We have never have experienced such an amazing B&B in our worldly travels as this. Noel is the pro on the cooked breakfasts and coffees. The bedroom has an alcove with fridge and hot drinks facilities. Diana is the bright shining star and a marvellous welcoming host. Within minutes one feels part of Diana's and Noels family. The house has had 40 years of love and care. On our next visit to Invercargill this is the place to stay. .

What a wonderful venue for a homely and personalised stay! Lovely hosts, quiet and safe location. Bed was a bit hard on my injured back. Highly recommended.

We experienced such a warm welcome from our hosts who instantly made us feel at home. The accommodation is so full of character and beautifully presented, with our own lounge to relax in with movies and books galore. Our bedroom was spacious with tea/coffee/fridge/homemade treats and some complimentary beverages - the bed was comfortable - and the location was central yet so quiet. It was bliss to relax in the claw foot bath in the lovely large bathroom and soak away my tiredness. The generosity of spirit is everywhere with little touches and considerations. Breakfast in the morning was brilliant - scrambled eggs and bacon with homemade bread (toast), preserves, cereals, fruit and yoghurt. We loved every minute of our stay and would return in a moment!

Superb Accommodation
Everything about this accommodation is exceptional. The room and amnesties to the location to the hosts and the breakfast. The detail in every aspect of the stay was finite. They thought beyond what you would want to have in your room and it was magnificent. The accommodation is within walking distance of great food and parks, had great Wi-Fi and privacy. It had your own sitting room and the furnishings were incredible. The hosts excelled themselves at all times and when we are next in that location we wouldn't stay anywhere else. An experience that we recommend to all. You would be mad not to book this accommodation and experience it for yourself.

This is an outstanding B&B. The hosts are terrific. They did some was for us and were very helpful in finding restaurants and advising on activities. Our room was clean and spacious and the bathroom featured two sinks, shower, free standing vintage clawed tub and separate room for the toilet. The breakfast was fantastic. We booked for one night and stayed for three!! We loved this place!

What a lovely surprise
An amazing bed and breakfast experience. Best we have experienced. The welcome from Noel and Diane was fantastic with a genuine warmth rarely met. The ensuite room had everything you could need and the lounge was warm and comfortable. Great breakfast.

This is a lovely B&B whit lots of charm and thoughtful touches. The breakfast was outstanding and the hosts could not have been more helpful and lovely. They gave excellent advice on dinner plans as well as travel plans. the common spaces are comfortable and large and every detail has been considered. We were a party of 4 and all would highly recommend this accommodation.

We’ve stayed in some very nice places on this trip, but this one is our new gold standard for B&B’s. The owners, Noel and Diana Bonisch are a delightful couple who made us feel welcome immediately, and we loved talking with them at length. Their wonderfully renovated, furnished, and decorated 1910 Victorian home looks delightful and feels very comfortable. The décor theme is French, which multiple hung paintings portrayed wonderfully. Their lush yard, garden, and greenhouse give their establishment an extra good ambience. The nearby restaurant they recommended (Buster Crabbs) was excellent. Delicious breakfast that included cooked fresh rhubarb from their garden.

Our stay with Diana and Noel was one of the highlights of our trip to NZ, they are so friendly and helpful. There beautiful home is in a great location, easy walk to centre of town. Our breakfast was wonderful. We arrived strangers and left friends. Could not recommend higher enough.

A real treat
Staying at Villa Rouge was probably the best way to introduce my mother, visiting from Germany, to B & Bs. From the moment we arrived Di and Noel made us feel at home. We loved the ambience, cosy and luxurious decor and the generous use of their rooms. Handmade biscuits and complimentary wine were an extra little bonus. The breakfast the next morning was a real treat. Muesli with preserved apricots and handmade yogurt as a starter was followed by Noel's perfectly poached eggs, barista coffee and home made bread. We'd definitely stay again and are highly recommending Villa Rouge and Di and Noel's wonderful hospitality to everyone who is passing through this part of New Zealand.
