We booked through hotels.com to stay here to attend our neice’s wedding. We didn’t book cancellation coverage since we booked our stay only a week from when we would be there, and we didn’t anticipate anything causing us to not be able to attend. However, I got very ill and tested positive for Covid 19, and rather than spreading the virus and exposing all wedding attendees to what I have and what my family has now been exposed to, we decided to not attend. Ordinarily, the call is left to the hotel to approve hotels.com to make an exception to cancel and refund our booking. The hotel manager at this establishment was cold, callous, and couldn’t care less about our circumstances, he was shockingly rude, and displayed absolutely 0 customer service skills.
After explaining our situation to the General Manager Landon (which you could hear in my voice how sick I was since my vocal cords were raw and coarse from all of my coughing, and my winded speech since it was hard to breathe), he callously responded with “You booked a non refundable room, what did you expect?! It’s our policy, and I’m not going to cancel and refund your booking!”
To be perfectly honest, my entire attitude and tone changed after that, I was miserable and exhausted, and now dealing with such an unkind, heartless, callously rude person. When I asked him if he’d rather me come stay at this hotel, or refund the booking, he smugly replied “We’ll give you a room since you paid for it, but I’m no
