Icacos Beach

Icacos Beach featuring a city, a coastal town and a beach

Whether you want to go shopping or swimming, the largest beach in Acapulco’s Golden Zone has everything to keep you entertained from day to night.

Visit Playa Icacos for a day-to-night beach experience. Playa Icacos is a holiday maker’s paradise. See why this district earned its name within the tourist-focused Golden Zone. From its sandy shores, you can play in the surf, shop and dine every day of your holiday.

Find Playa Icacos overlooking the northeast corner of Acapulco Bay. Beginning in the 1950s, this area was dubbed the Golden Zone because of its many tourist attractions. In its heyday, celebrities such as Johnny Weissmuller and Frank Sinatra flocked to its shores. Today it remains one of Acapulco’s most popular beaches.

Take a leisurely walk along the beach’s 1.3 miles (2.1 kilometres) of shoreline. Shopping malls, luxury hotels, restaurants and bars line Playa Icacos. Transition seamlessly from day in the sand to night in a club. Although it is known for its bustling nightlife, the area is well suited for visitors of all ages.

Enjoy the warm water and moderate surf at Playa Icacos. Its calm waters make it a great place to try watersports for the first time. Rent Jet Skis or go snorkeling. See an aerial view of Acapulco Bay while parasailing behind a motorboat. Combine thrills and sightseeing on a banana boat ride. In this iconic Acapulco recreational activity, a motorboat drives riders around the water on a fruit-shaped inflatable.

Take a break from the ocean and go to CICI. This water park offers fun for the whole family. Play in the giant wave pool or splash your way through its many water slides. Watch a sea lion show or swim with dolphins.

The beauty of Playa Icacos is that you can go from the beach to a bar to your bed in a few minutes. Choose from a variety of oceanfront hotels and condominiums for accommodation. Dance until dawn at one of the beach’s many clubs. American restaurants, such as the Hard Rock Café and Planet Hollywood, dominate the eating scene. Go farther inland to taste local fare.

Visit Playa Icacos any time of year. It is a great place to relax and have fun while enjoying Mexico’s fabulous sunny weather.
