Smart looking hotel in former convent, in Spain/Portugal this would be a Parador/Pousada but it might need a bit of spruce to get up to 5 stars. Atmospheric place and a comfortable stay. Staff were helpful, location is bang in the centre next to the river, about 10 mins from the rail station.

Interesting old building in a great location for exploring Gyor. Close to the center but quiet. Excellent breakfast and super helpful staff. Everything worked everyone was helpful and great value. We were only here for one night but it was at the end of a hectic month of travel. In Gyor fairly frequently but this was our first time at the Kastrom we will be back.

Pleasant hotel in great location. Average breakfast. Reception staff professional but unfriendly. Generally staff were only average and not friendly or particularly polite.

A former convent nicely turned into a hotel. The standard room is small but comfortable. The bathroom has a tub and shower nozzle, but no curtain. An ample breakfast and a friendly staff. Gyor is a charming small city, well worth a stop between Budapest and Vienna. Two great dinners in town.

Excellent city to visit.
Gyor is a gem. Great restaurants and city sites. The Klastrom is in a quiet area next to the old town.

Nicely situated
Situated next to river Raba and very close to local restaurants & coffee bars as only 10 to 15mins walk. Lots of beautiful buildings & points of interest to see. Breakfast very good & plentiful Hotel has no restaurant but plenty to choose from as just around the corner. Constructive point, The hotel garden & bar terrace area with seating could be made more use off to encourage visitors & guests to use on daily basis plus increasing the hotel trade a little more. In particular at the end of working day as a business traveller writing up the days paperwork. Or tourists in general enjoying the garden view but need to be encouraged in to start with. Extra Bar staff may be needed to cover this area.

Good room, great location - Wifi's an issue
Nice little room. Beds were a bit on the narrow side, but that seems to be common in Hungary. The hotel is smack in the heart of Gyor next to the river and just a five minute walk from the train station. Only negative point was the very fickle WiFi. My room on the 2nd floor I could connect to the WiFi but if it worked at all, it gave out again after a few moments. Had better results in the lobby, but there were intermittent problems too. Overall, good place to stay, unless you plan on using the Wifi in your room, then you'll need to bring your own internet connection.

2 nights at The Klastrom.
GYor was a beautiful little town to stay in for a couple of nights. The Klastrom hotel was lovely, full of character as it is a converted monastery. Had a fantastic meal at a restaurant called Lamareda Etterem Es Bisztro.went to the thermal pools for the afternoon, not cheap but nice for a relaxing afternoon.

Nice place, great location
This is a great place to stay in Gyor as it is right in the city centre and you can walk to explore. Great breakfast, beautiful building. Only complaint is lousy pillows- very flat even when putting 2 together. Our room was over the front entrance so a bit of street noise and late night talking but ear plugs took care of that. Room is small but that is to be expected considering what the building used to be.

Lovely lady at Reception looked ater us very well and was very helpful with things to do. Our room was fabulous and the location was very central. Great to stay in an old monastery.

Small rooms, needs a lift.
This hotel was originally a monastery and it shows in the size of the rooms. My room was pretty small and I definitely wish I hadn't packed quite so much in my suitcase because this place has no lifts. Staff were pretty disinterested in this or any other guest problems.

Hotel over-rated
The hotel was an old building and was in fact the Monestry which has been commercialised for hotel purpose. That explains why the hotel room setting was so strange with the beds set at a half floor height inside the room. The overall setting was more like a dormatory than a hotel room. Facilites were outdated - good for the memory of the old days. That explains why that attracts the visit from the Pope.

Klastrom Hotel Gyor Hungary
The Klastrom, which was a monastery and is now tastefully converted into a very comfortable, conveniently located hotel. Everything in the town is within walking distance from the hotel including the beautiful Belvaros, thermal pool and Sechenyi Square. The staff are very welcoming and the breakfast they provide makes a great start to the day. The rooms are the former cells of the monks and are very comfortable and clean. I have stayed here on many occasions during winter and summer and always enjoy the relaxing environment it provides.

Skvělý hotel v Gyoru
Krásný hotel kousek u lázní a zároveň hned v centru města. Do hotelu Klastrom jezdíme každý rok. Má zajímavou atmosféru (jedná se o velmi umně zrekonstruovaný klášter). Pokoje jsou velmi klidné, naprosto čisté a vkusně zařízené. Výborné snídaně a parkování za poplatek hned u hotelu. Velmi vstřícný a ochotný personál

Район - лучше не придумаешь для тех, кто приехал из-за аквапарка. 5 минут и ты там. В старом городе расположен, вечером есть куда сходить. Очень вежливый персонал, всегда с улыбкой, помогут и подскажут. Отличный завтрак! Чизкейк был даже :) В моем номере интернета почти не было. Но я не расстроилась:) Единственное, что огорчило, это слишком узкая кровать в одиночном номере, не высыпалась. Следующий раз возьму номер double :) Я обязательно вернусь в Дьёр-Мошон-Шопрон и обязательно в Klastrom!
