I stayed for 11 nights in December in both a superior balcony room (7th floor sea facing), and a classic room without balcony (6th floor also sea facing). There were some issues with the loss of water supply over the first two days. This was intermittent and outside the control of the hotel, but nonetheless did spoil the experience and cause a lot of aggravation. It's also important to know that the balcony room wasn't really worth paying extra for - I was on the 7th floor, above the swimming pool solarium area. But there was zero sunshine on the balcony for the whole time. I assume you'd get some sunlight in the summer months but if booking in the winter, be aware you might be in the shade the whole time. It did look like the balconies on the very top floor (8th) get lots of sunshine. The rooftop pool and solarium area is nice but quite small - the pool is very cold and not really worth much. It would be better to have more space for people to lie down - there are only 6 sunbeds so you have to grab these early, before the sun comes round. If you're not in a superior room but on the front, be aware that there are lots of lively bars and restaurants immediately beneath the floors. I was lucky to get a 6th floor room, away from the bars to avoid noise disturbance. Also, the water flooded the rest of the bathroom floor in room 709. Overall, once the issues highlighted above were resolved, I was happy to extend my stay over Christmas and would stay here again.

Grand Stay in Gran Canaria
The hotel is modern, clean, comfortable, and located right on the beautiful beach of Las Palmas. The staff was professional, informative, friendly, and helpful. Everyone spoke excellent English. The hotel has an on-site restaurant serving excellent food with a wide selection of chef-quality choices ranging from Spanish, European and Western dishes. A breakfast buffet is provided with a broad selection of foods ranging from juices and cereals to a broad selection of pastries, tortilla, and waffles. 5-stars. The room was spacious with a view of the ocean and modern, eco-friendly furnishings. Very clean and accommodating. Again 5-stars. There is adjacent parking along the street and a taxi right outside the hotel. There is a supermarket next door and modern Laundromat within a block. A taxi ride to the airport takes about 30 minutes. There is a Hop-on Hop-off stop within a ten minute walk of the hotel. The bus enables site-seeing of Las Palmas' numerous cultural and historic locations. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

We arrived early well before check in so were surprised when the friendly receptionist said our room was ready. The hotel has been tastefully renovated and our room which was the cheapest was clean and spacious and modern and very good value for money. Playa Canteras itself is a little run down and dirty so we were glad we were only staying for 1 night post cruise

Excelente ubicación, enfrente tienes la playa y estás en el malecón donde hay variedad de restaurantes, enfrente tienes el supermarket con precios muy accesibles, caminar de la estación de guaguas al hotel me pareció accesible y fácil. Las instalaciones son muy acogedoras con una limpieza excelente, el precio me pareció muy justo por el servicio y el desayuno incluido, muy rico, vareado y llenador, cabe mencionar que desde la recepción, fueron súper amables y acogibles, sin duda volvería.

It's right by the beach and the promenade. Clean, modern and very pleasant with helpful staff. Only stayed one night as an emergency stay over as our flight was delayed overnight so we didn't get to see a lot of the hotel or the pool, but what we did see was very nice.

We got a room that smelled of smoke and alkohol.. This ruined the whole hotel experience.. We just stayed for one night, if not we would have asked to change room. Not sure if it would be better in another room. Apart from this the hotel is located nicely next to the beachfront.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Exe Las Canteras. The location was perfect! We chose sea view rooms and had fantastic views!!! The hotel is right on the promenade in front of the beach and is easy walking distance to hundreds of restaurants, cafes, and bars. The rooms are no frills but very functional. The building is showing signs of wear and tear, but that did not bother us. We were not there to spend the day in our room...our room was just for sleeping, and it was perfect for that!

We won’t be going again.
The whole resort is run down as is the hotel - very tired. Things were broken or not working in our room. The AC didn’t work & as we only had a thin blanket on the bed, we were cold. The floors weren’t often cleaned and the balcony was never cleaned. Black oily smuts from nearby chimney deposited on furniture & onto our clothes. The only way to get Wi-Fi was to stand at our our room door. There were ants in the room and even in the bed. Cockroaches in the bathroom and big ones in the Spa. (This was listed in hotel details but was not free to guests. £9 each for 2hrs). No toiletries in the room when we arrived & after that the bare minimum. We had to buy our own. Often only 1 bath towel was left in vathroom. Reception Staff unhelpful. Cost us £160 to park 1K away. Details said street parking but never any spaces. Traffic a nightmare in Las Palmas. Told us there would be nowhere to eat Christmas Day which turned out untrue as many places open. No Christmas entertainment in hotel or in & around Las Palmas. The weather was warm & beach very good, although red flag up most of the time. We won’t be going back.

Had to change room as it smelled smoke, woke up with ants all over my face pillow and blanket closets to my face approx 60-100 ants. I filled in a legal Claim at the hotel in the morning but they didn’t take it seriously.

Large, clean room. Fantastic terrace looking over the sea (booked on advance to secure) Comfortable bed and pillows. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Spent a whole week here and really enjoyed it. The location is perfect. Lots of good places to eat a short walk away, and right on the beach promenade.

The property advertises it is a front beach hotel, well it is only for a few rooms, my room was outdated. I unknown why the breakfast was not included. Good SPA, I did a reservation but the SPA was not working because of some missing piece on the day of my appointment, however I got the massage service, the SPA staff very professional.

the room we were shown to on arrival was awful. grid on small window overlooking narrow dirty street. torn dirty net curtains on window. beds looked awful like camp beds. the room was nothing like that shown in your email confirming our booking. we were charged 175e extra for that room. receptionist said this was a regular occurance with Expedia clients

Good place to enjoy Las Palmas
The hotel was nice and easy access to shops and restaurants. Staff were very friendly. The Buffett breakfast was very tasty with famous Ibercos meats, cheese and fresh breads. The bed was a little hard and leaning to one side. I was on the 4th floor to the street side and you could hear people talking, singing etc as it was festival week. But overall a nice stay.

Hotel was great. Although not as plush as other hotels, our room was large with all of the facilities you would expect and was extremely quiet. Didn't hear any noise at all, so slept really well. Thank you.

This hotel was spotlessly clean, good shower and close to the beach. Some staff were great including the female receptionists.. however we asked to upgrade our room to a sea view and the response was pretty abrupt no. Convenient for short stay in the Capital.

Good location. Near beach, lots of shops. The down side is breakfast for 8 Euro is not worth it, no parking and no WiFi in rooms. We paid extra 4.25 per day but the connection was so poor that it kept logging us out every 5 min!

Nice hotel on the beach
The room is pretty basic, and I think it's overpriced. The hotel has great location on the beach with plenty of restaurants around. There is convenience store right next to the hotel and big shopping mall 10 mins away by feet. The hotel also provides beach towels for free (just require 10 euros deposit) The wifi is very slow.

Good Location, Terrible Hotel
When I booked this hotel, I had read reviews so was prepared for the worst but I didn't expect the hotel to be this bad. The walls are cracked, tiles missing, floors scratched and no room service. There was no toilet paper one day and bed was made but our dirty cups/glasses were left in the room all day. We had to ring reception to get this cleared. I stayed at AC Iberia Marriott in Feb this year and in comparison, this feels like a hostel. I woukd give it a one star rating! Pay a little bit more and book another hotel. Even a 3 star hotel would be better than this. Disappointed but still had a great time because Gran Canaria is beautiful and so are the people!
