We stayed in an overwater villa, we could climb down steps straight into the water to snorkel. Lovely villa, a 10-15 min walk to the restaurants/pool/beach, with great sunsets. One downside was the metal rings on the legs of the villa which continually bash against the wood-- sounds like rocks in the tumble drier. The pool is nice but the loungers are rigid. Beach loungers are old & uncomfortable- no cushions.
There was a good choice of restaurants included in our 1/2 board arrangement-- we enjoyed them all-- Asian, Italian and Arabic. At each restaurant & the buffet, the chefs were more than willing to go thru the menu with me and/or create something else that was safe for me to eat (I have a number of food allergies). The buffet had a huge range from every culture. With 1/2 board, you get 2 drinks, 1 soft drink & 1 alcoholic with the meal, (we didn't realise this included cocktails til the last night as only wine and beer were mentioned at check-in). The chill bar is a lovely venue too with live music and a great view into the water where you can watch sharks and fish swimming by. We also enjoyed shark feeding each day.
We borrowed snorkelling equipment and a kayak (free), paddle boat and paddle board which were all in good condition and the staff were very helpful. However we found the food, spa and excursions very expensive here compared to the next resort we went to (Kurumba).
