Great place to stay and very welcoming
From the start I was welcomed by the owner Franco and his staff, Nice size room, and great views from the balcony Amazing food, will stay again when down that way.

Excellent Stay
The hotel was perfect for our needs. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful family owned hotel run by lovely staff.
Great location and super friendly staff making the stay very enjoyable. Family run hotel that genuinely cared for its clients. Plenty of parking and full restaurant on site catered for everything we needed. We parked parked a moto outside (right outside entrance). Location is excellent near beautiful driving roads right in the middle of a natural park. We will definitely be back when we visit this area again.

Friendly hotel

Franco always treat you like family. Best host you can find. Nice place to relax, bath in the pool and have dinner. Many nice one-day trips from the place.

Charming Hotel
My wife and I spent two nights while visiting the Abruzzo National Park. What a treat! The staff was cordial and competent. The rural setting is quiet and peaceful. The food and service were first class. There was even a national class art exhibition while we were there. We would go out of our way to stay there again.

Discover Abruzza
We were driving from Tuscany to southern Italy and stayed overnight at this wonderful family-run hotel adjacent to national parks in the mountains to the east of Rome but off the main tourist track. Great atmosphere with very helpful staff and service. Good food.

As Family!
Mr. Franco (the Owner) received me and my colleagues as his family. We were there for one week and the from the check-in to check-out, everything was excellent: the rooms are very picturesque, the food at the Hotel's restaurant is excellent (and on very big doses as it turns to be a 3 to 5 courses meal), the staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel facilities are very good. Will come back for sure!

The hotel was so warm, comfortable, and friendly that we stayed an extra day. it was very quiet. The breakfast was very good and the waiter/barrista on staff made great espresso and cafe latte. The area is rural and has beautiful scenery. The hotel has an eclectic and interesting art collection. There is a beautiful forest nearby and several pretty towns. One of the best restaurants in Italy is near there in Pescina Ristorante Poppaedius.

Hotel Filippone and staff were wonderful. I had a nice time there and had a chance to rest after touring and visiting family in Italy. I highly recommend it for the Avezzano, Ortucchio, Abruzzo area.

The Restaurant is 4-star, the hotel not really
I have seen better equipped hostels than this 4 star hotel. There were no tooth brushes, no tooth paste, no shampoo nor conditioner offered. There was also no bathtub despite getting one of the pricier rooms. The spring mattresses seem quite old, the pillows were comfortable though. The air conditioning was not working well either. The breakfast consisted of many sweets and biscuits (typical Italian), cornflakes, toast, sandwich cheese and some ham. There were no fruits or vegetables, not even eggs offered in the morning. The staff though was very welcoming and caring. They took your orders and prepared your drinks. The coffee they use is excellent. The restaurant food is amazing and everyone is working hard to provide excellent service. TLDR The hotel is ok, the service is great, the food excellent, even if not balanced/healthy.

Si può fare di più, ma siamo stati bene complessivamente.... La conduzione familiare ha i suoi limiti ma anche i suoi pregi....quindi dipende da cosa ci si aspetta, ma io complessivamente quando sono andato via ho dato un giudizio più che positivo. Very safe environment in CoViD times. Internet does not seem to be working in the rooms, but there is ample space downstairs to work. Food is superb!

I spend 6 weeks in Filippone in 1998 for work and returned for the first time 3 years ago and this year again. Every time again it feels like I’m coming home. Franco and his team are very welcoming and do everything to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The food in the restaurant is absolutely delicious and we left both nights completely full. We’ll be back again.

Abbiamo preso una suite esecutive, nella speranza di avere tutti i confort . Purtroppo alcune cose previste nella suite erano mancanti. In generale la pulizia ha lasciato a desiderare. La posizione dell'albergo e' lungo la strada che va al parco nazionale d'Abruzzo, quindi un po' trafficata e quindi rumorosa.

Soggiorno meraviglioso....sono andata 3 giorni con mio marito e il mio bimbo di un anno....era il nostro anniversario in più il compleanno di mio marito e lo staff dell'hotel sono stati veramente squisiti, miei complici nell'organizzare una piccola cena con torta a sorpresa!!! consigliatissimo anche perchè molto rilassante e si mangia veramente molto bene!!!
