“Favourite hotel in Geneva”
After discovering this hotel a few years ago, it is now our favourite place to stay in Geneva. Nothing much has changed, which is a good thing as the rooms are clean and well specified, the lobby and communal areas are maintained to a high standard and the staff are friendly and helpful.
“OAPs head to the Alps”
We needed one night in Geneva close to the station, as arriving late from the airport. The staff and the room were welcoming, and the transport pass much appreciated. Felt two teabags and two wee milks/creamer were a trifle slim, and we could not afford the breakfast. A quiet night, aircon appreciated. The only Scarlet women we saw were at 10am on a Sunday, a sad sight on a rainy morning..
“Excellent Hotel”
Excellent hotel close to train station and central Geneva. Very friendly and helpful staff.
“very pleased”
I stayed in a twin room with my mum and we were both surprised at how great this hotel was for a 3 star. We chose the hotel because of it's good price and location. It's walking distance from the station & shopping centre (5mins), lake (10mins), old town (20mins). The hotel itself has great arty decor and is spotless. The room was in very good condition, with some beautiful furniture. There was also a freebie chocolate waiting for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again if i return to Geneva.
“great hotel, pity about the location”
A lovely hotel - very warm welcome from reception, attractive decor, comfortable room and bathroom - but it is located in what seemed to be Geneva's redlight district so we didn't feel entirely comfortable walking around at night. That said, it was very good value for money and we would definitely stay there again.
“lovely service”
The road (rue de la Navigation) is not the prettiest in geneva, but literally a few minutes walk to the lake - about 5 mins walk to the old town side. really good value - excellent service. Free wi-fi throughout, plus free use of their pc (with printer - handy for online check-in at airport and printing boarding cards!). some lovely bars near for a night cap. 5 mins walk to the train station - definately ge the train to the airport - not a taxi. Couldn't be easier. Hotel Kipling also gave us vouchers for food offers in their other hotels as well as free travel tickets (that covered train, bus and lake - our return train to the station plus 3 lake trips were used). Excellent
“Superb hotel--dodgy area”
With friends, my husband and I stayed in the Kipling hotel in June 2008. We could not fault the hotel it was lovely in all respects and produced an excellent breakfast.Unfortunately, possibly because it is situated near the station the surrounding streets were very dirty and our immediate reaction was that it was not particularly safe to walk the streets so to speak! The strange thing is that it is only 3/4 streets behind Lake Geneva and all the 'expensive 5 star hotels' so you would presume that the area would be 'looked after'. The hotel is worth a visit just be very careful where you are eating and drinking and do not be distracted by anything!!
“Excellent value hotel in a very handy location”
I was very happy with my stay here. The room was clean and well furnished, with a decent LCD TV. It looked to me the hotel had been modernised fairly recently. This hotel is is a very handy location, a short walk away from the train station and in the Paquis area, jam packed with relatively (for Geneva) reasonably priced eateries. Having read of doubts regarding this area from other reviews, I found the area safe, though I didn't venture out particularly late, and I didn't see much of a red light district in evidence. I would say the usual big city rules apply, i.e. be watchful and don't do silly things like leave valuable lying around. Free WiFi in the hotel is provided, which was very reliable, and thus extremely useful. The desk service was very friendly & helpful. You are given a Geneva card upon arrival, which is useful for discounts. I used it to discount a boat trip around the lake, so make sure you get the card. All in all I would highly recommend staying at the hotel, the good reviews here are well deserved from my experience. I would definately stay here again upon visiting Geneva.
“Best 3 stars hotels”
My girl friend and I stayed in this Hotel in our last stop of 8 days tour from Zurich to Geneva. I am very confused about the star rating. It should definitely rate a 4 stars. The location is good, just five minutes walk from the train station. The room is big and beautifully decorated. The reception is excellent and very friendly. She gave us a bus and ferry pass and a booklet of vouchers for restuarants and cafe. There are also free internet access in this hotel. I shall definitely stay in this hotel again.
“Excellent business hotel in central Geneva”
Close to central station, plenty of eating places within 5 mins walk, friendly staff, good breakfast and quiet side-street location.
