"I Loved my room. It was a sanctuary. I loved the beach and the set up of how the hotel was on the beach. Pristine, beautiful and like a dream spot. I do wish the front desk service was more professional and attentive. My arrival was fantastic. But any calls or interactions with them, was un educated about the hotel on the whole and barely helpful. The room attendees are magnificent. The wait staff were lovely. Restaurant manager was exemplary."

"This Hotel certainly has its positive points. It is beautiful, well located, and has some magical attractions, such as a huge and ancient Boabab tree on the property. That being said, although it has good bones, it suffers from poor service and lack of maintenance. Staff is not well trained. I came to my room being left wide open all day by housekeeping, even after having reported a faulty latch, which was never fixed. I found ripped paintings in rooms, sick cats on the property who are in desperate need of veterinary help. Food is bland and not diverse. Lots of flies around. Staff do not know what of the food is vegetarian and what is not. Beach is horrible. You cannot step our without 5 or 6 vendors following you. They are beyond persitant. They will in fact peer into the hotel itself and try to sell you a coconut, or a boat, or a ride, while you are at the pool. It is not restful and very invasive. If you want a beach getaway, get away from this place. The beachboys will stalk you and will follow you and will watch you. Very creepy. There is extremely loud music from the hotel itself at night. Badly mixed, and with loud base. If you want to have a good nights rest, you might want to stay elsewhere. Basic etiquette among staff is lacking. I asked for a kettle in my room, and I was told if I booked a more expensive room, I might have got one. A very unnecessary comment to make, where a simple no, would have done the job. Overall: Not even a last resort."

"Way too many flying insects on, yes, on the food. Flies at the dessert stations...flies at the tables when eating. Hot tubs are accessible only when purchasing spa services. And the hot tubs were tiny, fits 2 only. I did not feel comfortable using the beach, too many unknowns approaching you. Insect, fruit flies in the rooms. Light switches are confusing."

"This place is sheer bliss! If you are thinking of booking just do it! We were lucky to have a full week here following a safari. There are 3 things that are very special about Waterlovers… 1. the location is stunning, right on the beach it feels like paradise: 2. the staff, they are so welcoming, attentive and friendly- we have to mention particularly Anthony and Siassi in the dining room, and Abdullah and Timo who kept the cocktails coming at the beach bar and were such great fun; 3. the attention to detail in the rooms and the decor, hand carved items everywhere and we were able to purchase the cute sugar bowl and bottle toppers to bring home. The rooms are beautiful- we stayed in Elephant cottage, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The food was very nice and, while there is plenty of choice on the menu for a few days, we did suggest maybe an additional ‘dish of the day’ would be a welcome addition. We had no issues with insects or cleanliness - our Housekeeper Helen looked after our room very well. We enjoyed the pool and the layout of the rooms among the palms and trees was idyllic. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and hope we get to go back some day."
