The flat was not clean from the previous person. We found a dirty towel and hair in one of the bed as well as crumbles on the table and dirt in the bathroom sink. For breakfast we were alone. Nobody was there. Just cold choises

Worth stopping at.
Nice place to stay. Not fancy, but you park near your car and it’s warm. Breakfast was very basic, but we left with a full belly.

Showed up. Did not like how it looked and did not feel safe. I cancled with the manager over the phone and agreed to pay 50% of the amount. They still charged 100% and reneged on the agreement. Would not recommend.

The place was very clean with hot water. It was a great pit stop on our road trip; close to the main road going in and out of the city, making it easy to pull on and off. There is no reception but called about an issue with the lock box and they were very helpful.

I am giving a 5 star review for easy check in and affordability. It is simple, but everything you need to spend a night. The place is clean and has a TV. The breakfast, which is included, is similar to those in other places where you pay $14-17, the only difference being the simple setting and cafe.

It was a little strange setup for sure … The giant glass on the door that opens into your room. Not much of a complaint but it was strange for sure. The location of the hotel/motel was quiet and seemed good.

Taergesen has been around for like, 184 years. The original building is in good repair, decorated with historic memorabilia. The room we stayed in is in a separate building across the driveway. The room was large, clean, comfortable with a private bathroom. The current proprietor is an energetic, friendly lady who is well-known for her pizza. Breakfast was included, a beautiful array of sausage, cheese, breads, vegetables, cereals, skyr, and cookies.

I think that if you are a fan of Fortitude, it would be be a thrill to stay here. However, as I have never watched the show, I rated this guest house based on the quality of my stay. We were in the building beside the main house. It is like a motel in that you can drive the car right up to the door of the room. The room was small and very basic. It was in need of new pillows, linens and a paint job. The sparseness of the room did not make it feel warm and inviting. Based on all of the positive reviews that I had read, my friends and I were disappointed. The evening meal In the dining room was satisfactory.

Beautiful surroundings. It had a very modern, spacious, bathroom and large flat screen tv. Brekkie was included however we had to leave early. We were told we could get something from cook if we had to leave early but no one was around!

The lovely young lady a check in upgraded me to a new room that was not above the restaurant, so it would be quieter for me. The room was comfortable and clean with plenty of hot water.

Pleasant, helpful staff and a step back in time to another place and time. Watch and episode or two of "Fortitude" before you go. It give Taergesen a whole different vibe. Loved in. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Quiet guesthouse with very accommodating staff
We were upgraded to a room with its own bathroom. This was probably due to us being the only guests there that night, but nice nonetheless. We ate a delicious dinner at the attached restaurant, which was also run by the guesthouse staff. Afterward we mostly just stayed in our room until one of the women working there knocked on our door to let us know that the northern lights were out, which was very nice of her.
