Make your way through the art-laden corridors of the museum. Examine Pietro Lorenzetti’s 700-year-old masterpiece, Christ between Saints Paul and Peter. Dating back to 1320, the painting stands against a gold panel and is a significant part of Western art history. Other famous painters whose works are displayed on this museum’s walls include Frans Hals, Herbert James Draper and Francesco Guardi.

Entrance to the museum is free. It opens daily from morning until afternoon. The Ferens Art Gallery is in the commercial district in the heart of Hull. Ride a train to the Hull railway station and walk east for a few minutes to get here. Visit some of the other nearby attractions, including the Hull Maritime Museum and the Hull Cenotaph. The Plaque Commemorating Robinson Crusoe celebrates the fictional departure of Daniel Defoe’s beloved character from the city.
