Booked over 5 weeks in advance before going to our holiday home in France for a month, 2 days before our stay we were emailed to say that because we had dogs we needed to be upgraded to a premium room for an additional charge - this should have been done within 2 days of booking not left sooooo late, giving us an opportunity to cancel.
The cleaners were also suffering with a lack of attention to detail as there was no gel in the shower dispenser, 1 soap between the 2 of us and I had to raid a loo roll from the restaurant toilet.
We ordered our meal and eventually the waitress approached us to ask if we had eaten our starters ... no came the reply ... we had been forgotten!
However the hotel is in lovely grounds, our room (which was suitable for disabled) was spacious and there were french doors that opened onto a patio area.
It was such a shame that the staff weren't trained well enough and didn't consider the possibility of repeat business - basically they have missed out on an opportunity for 10 nights plus dinner & drinks per year from this customer.
