Nilakshi in the front office and Sanjeewa in the restaurant are amazing. Also I should mention Udesh, Manager. Foods were fantastic. Thank you all and others making our stay at Echo unforgettable. We have stayed some upscale hotels in the Ella area, but Echo is the best. We highly recommend this place.

From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in the soothing embrace of nature. Surrounded by verdant forests and breathtaking views of Ella's iconic landmarks, every corner of the resort exuded serenity. The eco-friendly ethos was evident in every aspect of the retreat, from its use of locally sourced materials to its commitment to minimizing environmental impact. Accommodation options ranged from cozy villa alike rooms to spacious bungalows, each designed with eco-friendly principles in mind. Green gardens to supply for delicious dishes at the restaurant, while rainwater harvesting systems ensured efficient water usage. The charm of the accommodations was complemented by modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay without compromising on sustainability. Special highlights to SANJEEWA & NETHMI from restaurant noted down our preferences and surprised us every day in breakfast. PRIYANTHA from housekeeping made sure our rooms are spotless. Special mention to UDESH, the hotel manager who went above and beyond to make sure we are well taken care of.

The Place to stay in Elle
If you want something special at Elle , close by the town , but far away to enjoy silence and nature , then is Ekco Elle the place to go . It is not cheap but after your visit you now it is all worth .

Fabulous retreat.
Fantastic hotel in a wonderful setting which is a short walk into Ella but well away from the busy town. Also a short walk from the station if you arrive by train. Staff are very courteous and always helpful. Thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful property! We stayed here for one night in January and I wish we could’ve stayed for more. Upon arrival, we got a complimentary upgrade to the room with the jacuzzi and it was so nice to have it - if I were to come back, I would book this room again. The room was a good size, clean, and in great condition. The amenities provided were nice. They had a pre-fix menu for breakfast along with eggs however you wanted them cooked, and it all tasted wonderful and was served in their upscale dining room with gorgeous views of the mountains. We didn’t have dinner there but wished we could fit it into our schedule since everything else was so nice. The staff was also very hospitable and friendly. Overall, the whole place was fantastic! The only suggestion I would make to the hotel is to provide guests with slippers or mop the floors after each stay - we did not have our own slippers so we walked around the room with our bare feet, and the floor was very dusty.

We were so warmly welcomed from the second we arrived and were treated with such kindness until the moment we left. The room was absolutely perfect, spacious and immaculate. We had dinner, breakfast and lunch here and all was excellent. The service in the restaurant is outstanding. The view is breathtaking. You wake up and see the sunrise over the mountains from your window. We have traveled all over the world and truly have not received better value for $200 usd anywhere.

The hospitality at this hotel was exceptional! Upon checkin, the staff prepared a lovely surprise for us for our honeymoon. The grounds and views at this property are truly amazing. Pirhtnana was always there to assist us and all the staff was so welcoming and wonderful. Great location, just a short 3 minute walk into town. Would definitely stay again!

EKHO Ella is a great hotel, and I would definitely stay there again. The views of the high country from the garden are unbeatable. The public spaces are lovely, the staff is friendly & helpful, and the Sri Lankan food is perfect. (Note: in the restaurant you can opt for either western or Sri Lankan food). The hotel is within walking distance of town which made it easy to pop in for lunch or some shopping.

Splendid, marvellous, breathtaking
When you enter the lobby you are in another world and as you go outside to the garden, this world gets even dreamy. The view from outside and from the room oversees little Adam’s peak and Ella rock. The food is delicious and the employees are very friendly and smiling all the time. We did book premier double room, Mountain View. The room is amazing!!!

Lovely place to stay in Ella with the most amazing views. We stayed in a suite which had its own hot tub and the whole room was a bit like a train compartment - very quirky! The bed was super-comfy and the food was fantastic. The room furniture was just a little tired - it could do with a refresh and also some of the lights didn't work but overall, this is a lovely place to stay for a night or two.

This small boutique hotel is one of the original rest houses of Ella, and has a prime location overlooking the gap and Ella Rock, making the perfect backdrop for stunning sunrises. Beautiful birds and other wildlife occasionally make appearances on the large terrace surrounded by a garden. The location is fantastic; walkable to the town but far enough away from the noise. The breakfast and service were fantastic. Note, there is no spa or pool at this hotel. Our room (108) was spacious and comfortable, and had an amazing view.

Nice location. Food was nice. Rooms dated. Mould in the shower. No comfy seats to sit on in our room just a garden bench.Our room was on the corner of the road. It sounded like the cars were in our room. I had asked for a quiet room. When I went to reception I was given ear plugs. Not the answer I wanted. The price we paid for this hotel is to high. You are paying for the views.Need to update the rooms for the price. All Staff was lovely.

Quirky hotel with a beautiful view
We stayed at EKHO Ella for one night - it’s not our usual sort of hotel as it is “themed” (train theme) however the staff were great, breakfast was good, and the views are beautiful. The location is great too. Would recommend - but not for more than a couple of nights!

Reviews We stayed here for 2 nights and were astounded by the beauty surrounding the hotel. It was stunning. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of variety. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location, a couple of minutes walk to all the restaurants and bars in Ella. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious and comfortable. Our only complaint was how much light the room let in because the windows weren’t covered properly...bring an eye mask! Other than that, we had a fantastic stay.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. The view is incredible. Service is impeccable. Short walk to the main tourist strip of Ella (bars & restaurants). We stayed two nights, wish it had been longer!

Amazing views
This hotel had the most amazing view! Could use some more sun chairs and better service around that area and hot tub a bit dirty. Bathroom could use a freshening up! But would definitely stay again for the views and relaxation I don’t think you find many places in the small town of Ella.

The Ekho Ella is a gem! With stunning views, helpful staff, very comfortable rooms and a great launch pad to the local area. Ella is busy and colourful high up above the heat of the coast and with walks and views to enjoy. Don’t order steak at the hotel! I couldn’t get my knife to cut it! Still a wonderful stay.

Great hotel, great staff and an amazing view!
Stayed with a group of friends for 2 nights. Right from the start the staff was really attentive and available throughout the stay. The rooms are spacious and essential amenities were present. The location of the hotel is within the town. The hotel comes with an amazing view of Ella Rock and Little Adams peak which can be enjoyed from the dining area, jacuzzi and restaurant!
