"Beautiful Bed and Breakfast"
We arrived in shocking weather to be warmly greeted with a cup of tea and shortbread which was an excellent start. Our room was beautiful..and so was the guest lounge and the dining room. Our hosts were delightful..lots of little extras which made our stay even more special. This Bed and Breakfast is out in the country which also makes it quiet, peaceful and once the weather improved has fabulous scenery..we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and wished we could have stayed longer than the one night. I have no hesitation in recommending it to others....and it was all capped off with a delicious breakfast.

"Character hotel in a beautiful location"
From the moment we entered we were warmly welcomed and cossetted. Staff were excellent, polite and attentive even though there was a wedding on we did not feel marginalised or less important. Fine meal in the evening though menu limited - presumably as they are more of an event hotel rather than running a restaurant in a traditional style hotel. Breakfast though plentiful was buffet style with the downside of the food not being piping hot. only negative comment room wise was the cam ceiling - I could negotiate past the bottom of the bed if I leant over, at 5ft 4in , but not so convenient for hubby or anyone taller. Would still recommend and will return next time we are in the area.

"A relaxing long weekend"
From the moment we drove up the long driveway to Letham House we knew we'd made the right choice for our break. The building itself is beautiful and the inside did not disappoint. Barbara welcomed us warmly and showed us around the lovely public rooms. Our bedroom was spacious, well appointed and very clean. The shower-room was clearly recently renovated to a high standard. On our first night Barbara drove us to a local bistro and arranged a taxi for our return. The second night we ate at a local Indian restaurant, again one of Barbara's recommendations. On Saturday night, however Barbara produced an excellent 3 course dinner which we ate in the pleasant company of our fellow guests.

"NICE CLEAN FRIENDLY HOTEL."
Myself and my wife stayed here for just one night. We where greeted by a lovely young lady who showed us to our room. Our room was very clean. the only downside`s where it was i little on the small side. and the shower room/toilet was very small. but everything was there that was required. There was complementry toiletries if you needed them. But i must state There was a slight problem with the shower as it ran very slowly. but it was definately useable. The Bed was so Comfortable. and our room looked onto the Garden Area. The Breakfast was beautiful and more than plenty of it... "Infact is was to die for" We both said we would definately come back to this hotel...........

Pocket Guide: Edinburgh East Lothian Hotels

Prosperous agricultural East Lothian lies due east of the capital. Haddington, the county town, is rich and handsome, and due south the Lammermuir Hills are home to some charming villages. North Berwick, a genteel Victorian-Edwardian resort half an hour by rail from Edinburgh, looks onto Bass Rock, home to over 100,000 seabirds. Gullane ('Gillin') houses the Muirfield golf course, while nearby Musselburgh is the region's busiest racecourse.
