Lovely setting, easy going staff, we didn’t use the Spa as we thought it was a bit expensive for us, nothing stood out as exceptional, it was just really chilled. Easy 5 min walk into the village centre for a wander, there's a big Spa so you can stock up on picnicky stuff for your room or days out, or wine/beer to take back to your room, plus a couple of Takeaways and we tried 2 of the 3 pubs too, both had a great and friendly atmosphere.

Upon arrival the property looks really nice. The reception area is modern and clean. We had a good checkin experience although weren’t informed of check out times, where to have breakfast and other facilities. With 2 young boys and a long commute we just wanted to get to our room. We were in a family room which we had to amend to at a late stage. The hotel were accommodating and looked after this. We had room 433 which if I’m honest was pretty disappointing for the price. The room was cold and uninviting the furniture was tired and marked. The throw on the main bed had a massive stain on it and there was a few pieces of rubbish that hadn’t been removed. The room was adequate but definitely not luxurious. We ate in the Terrace lounge and they made an error with our dinner reservation and ended up moving a few times but we were offered complimentary drinks whilst we waited. The food in the Terrace was delicious both for adults and kids. The atmosphere for a Friday night was relaxed with just low background music and no TV’s. Breakfast the next morning was also very tasty and had more than enough selection for all tastes. We didn’t use the Spa facilities as there was an additional cost and also you had to be over 16. In summary Nice Hotel, great food, pity about the rooms.

The hotel is beautiful set in idylic surroundings close to a village called dunboyne buses were easily sccessible for trips into dublin and surrounding areasstaff are very friendly and camt do enough for you

Spa was was very nice. Building is a bit older and repairs are in progress. Breakfast buffet area was great and food was wonderful. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful hotel convenient to Dublin and Airport
Dunboyne Castle Hotel is very nice. Our stay there was quite comfortable, convenient to Dublin, clean, and quiet. Service was top notch and the trails around the property were lovely. Dunboyne Village is very cute with coffee shops and pubs available. However, the Ivy restaurant at Dunboyne Castle Hotel was excellent for dinner, it definitely is a four star hotel, bordering on five.

Bad service in lounge super slow no Organization spiders everywhere with webs no dusting , chased me down for my room charge when I wasn’t checking out for days , was heading on excursion so cab meter running when I asked can’t I pay my two drinks when I check out the next day ? Apparently yes I didn’t need resolve it yet no Power outlets in room worked Tv kept cutting out

Great Stay
Stayed at Dunboyne for one night after leaving the city. Parking was the draw for my husband to this hotel. Convenient & easy to park. Ate at the Bar for dinner. Food was good & service was quick. Would recommend for someone looking to stay out of the busy city.

Room OK, although the 'view' was only to the rear of the property and with encroaching trees. The entire hotel seemed as if it could do with an overall deep clean. Staff were polite and friendly.

I was given a room with an air vent on to the next rooms balcony, so it sounded like they were in my room, also the air vent faced the outside terrace of the bar which was noisy. Every room seemed to have a balcony except mine, it seems you get the worst rooms when booking with hotels.com. Breakfast so so. Restaurant food good.

When I first reserved this hotel I was hesitant due to the fact that is a 20 minute ride from Dublin City Center. About an hour by bus. However, that turned out to be the best part of the trip. We were there for 8 days and most every day we would take a cab into Dublin to see the sights or take a tour (Blarney and Cliffs of Moher). But every night my wife and I would finish our day on the hotel patio drinking a pot of tea or having a coffee. We would spend a couple of hours discussing the day and enjoying the peaceful evening. This is an excellent hotel mostly because the staff is exceptional. They are always friendly and eager to help make your stay the best it can be. The on site spa is damn good. I arranged for my wife to get a facial/massage package and she really enjoyed it. The lady that took care of her did an excellent job and was extremely knowledgeable about her craft. The dining was very good and the waitstaff very attentive and professional. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the town of Dunboyne. It’s a small town with a few places to eat. We ate at O’Dwyers, it’s a family style pub with great food and cold Guinness! I highly recommend this hotel and I look forward to returning in the future.

Ok this is a very nice hotel and I will use again. The breakfast was great, nice selection helpful staff. The rooms were comfortable, nice big TV and quiet. The only issues were: getting in, the car barrier kept failing and was extremely annoying as there is no incoming intercom. 2nd minor gripe..nice bath provided...with a plug that didn't fit so I had to put some plastic in the plug hole or it would have drained out as fast as it filled...how can that not be noticed!!!

Excellent reception staff - very personable and so welcoming. Bar staff very well presented and polite. The room was very clean and spacious and very peaceful and quiet at night. Lovely breakfast in the morning. I was with my two girls for á competition in Dublin and we had a lovely time walking around the grounds. They felt so welcome and the reception staff in particular were so friendly and kind and spent time chatting to them. We’ll definitely be back!

Spa is terrible - hotel trying to avoid overheads
This hotel is trying to save money - The spa facilities that you have to pay an extra 5 euro to use while being a staying quest. The steam rooms do not work, the 4 heated seats only 1 works, the showers in the mens changing rooms do not have warm/hot water, the hydro pool is freezing, the warm room is not warm/ not working, in the hydro pool as I was standing in the pool, my toes ended up taking part of the pool tiles off the bottom on the pool. Also the relaxation area is freezing, with 2 random chairs and 1 random lounger, not even enough for a party of 1 to relax in. The hotel would not order quests taxis a bit of a shame, especially when a party covering 3 rooms has paid over 600 to stay for the night.
