“A hotel that punches above its weight”

I have stayed on the executive floors of this hotel on many occasions. The rates are competitive. The service of the two ladies who constitute the dedicated check in staff is fantastic. The Executive Lounge service staff are also capable and welcoming. This is not a 'fancy' hotel but it is one that gets the basics absolutely right - reception, service, housekeeping are all of a high standard. When so few hotels can even achieve this these days, the City Centre Hotel is to be congratulated on offering a solid and reliable product that embraces the core values of hospitality and hotelkeeping. Strongly recommended.

“Can't understand why anyone would stay anywhere else in Dubai!!!!”

One of the best priced 5 star hotels in Dubai, and a real 5 star at that, not just because of dubai's sometimes lax rating system. Rooms tidied, cleaned and all bed linen and towels changed every day, turned down at night, newspapers on the doors every morning, great breakfast, great staff. Room was big with a 32" lcd tv, very comfortable, couldn't fault it. Room was near the hotel bars but still couldnt hear a sound overnight. Best thing about this hotel though is the location. Elevator for floor 2 leads straight out into a modern, diverse shopping and entertainment complex. Massive food court, plus loads of proper sit down restaurants. Such a great range of shops, from a 100000 sq ft plus Carrefour hypermarket to Omega and Burberry boutiques. Awesome.

“Excellent service and baby friendly”

Great hotel, really good location with the shopping mall on your door step. Excellent service and we were well looked after.

“Good Hotel. Expedia let us down by not showing hotel was under renovations.”

This is a very good hotel. Staff are very polite & helpful. Our stay was very much uncomfortable because Expedia failed to show that the hotel was going through an extensive renovation. As result we had to move rooms twice and there were constant noise from builders. ZERO POINT for Expedia. We would not have booked the hotel had we known it was under renovations.

“Great hotel with excellent facilities”

We visited this hotel in February of this year and had a brilliant time. The rooms are very comfortable, the beds being great to snuggle down in after a hard day's shopping in the malls. We experienced the executive suite and all the facilities associated with this, free breakfast, afternoon tea/cakes, evening canapes and alcoholic beverage. Staff were exceptionally friendly and we thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Dubai as it is a five minute run from the airport and centrally positioned for the gold, silver and spice souks.

“very good place to stay”

Stayed here for only one night in April. We arrrived very early after flight from Sydney, but reception found us a room to move into straightaway. Sadly, it was a smoking room, and smelt a bit. But we were only too pleased to have a room at all. We could scarcely complain since we had only paid about half-price for the room (thanks Expedia!). Glad we did not stay in the Jumeirah Beach area - just a vast building site. Missed out on the gold souk - we used a taxi, and there was a misunderstanding with the driver, so we ended up at the diamond souk, some distance away, a new mini-mall.

“I would like to go back but it is to expensive”

I really enjoyed and I would love to go back but it is really expensive. the bigest problem in Dubai is the transport, I spent lot of money on taxis.

“Disappointed this time because of renovation work”

Hotel undergoing renovations until August 2012. Not mentioned on Expedia when I booked. Have stayed there many times before so very disappointed as swimming pool is closed and the alternative offered at nearby Novotel is shaded from the sun from most of the day and is at a lower grade hotel. Paying extra for non-existent facilities not pleasing. Hotel is aware of this as I spoke to the manager when I checked out and showed him website and everything and they are looking into it for me also. He asked me to send a formal email - which I did immediately - so he could pass it on as to why I was not told. WHen hotel is fully functional it's fabulous - linked to shopping mall, metro at the other end of shops, not too far from airport but not in flightpath and great for Dubai Tennis Championships which is why I was there. Rooms are fantastic.

“good location, but better hotels”

The hotels location was fantastic but the room was dated but clean. The rooms overlooking the motorway were also very noisy due to the aircraft taking off. Staff were ok. Best thing about it was being part of the Deira shopping mall - fanbulous
