"The wife and I were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We felt that we were staying in a palace. The workers were dressed in attire from medieval times. The decor was of medieval times. They include a breakfast buffet fit for a king. The staff was extremely friendly. We arrived late in the evening and a gentleman went out to a nearby restaurant to ask if they could accommodate us as it was 1/2 hour before closing times. He came back and told us if we hurried over they would accommodate us....

"My friend and I stayed at Marina Rio in October 2014. We enjoyed it then and it hasn't disappointed us on this visit. The bedrooms have been revamped, excellent! The breakfast has something for everyone and my only comment would be the tables are close together. (Understandably as you need a place for all the visitors). Lovely walk to the town, great walk by the sea on the 'new' boardwalk. Lots of lovely eateries etc. I hope to return. Thank you."

"The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the outdoor pool in the hot weather but be warned it isn’t heated. The gym and sauna are small 3 or 4 people at most the situation of the hotel is very convenient for visiting the castle & convent, shops, cafes & restaurants . The hotel hosts lots of conferences. Odd number rooms overlook the park and pool. Even numbers overlook the car park and views to the castle. I felt there was mor bedding than was necessary, the air conditioning was...

"The Castelo Santa Caterina is a truly unique and comfortable piece of Porto history that is worth considering for your Porto visit. The castle retains its original historical charm from the period decorations to the furniture. The rooms are tastefully decorated with a modern bathroom and comfortable bed. The service is exceptional and the complimentary breakfast is delicious. I would stay there again and recommend it to others. "
