Ist time to india. Shocking how dirty crumbling crowded polluted the city is over all in Delhi. Yet, life forges onward. So this affects the rating but should not for the hotel which for the rate, is reasonable, offered good value facilities n conveniences. Some staff is grudgingly accommodating but overall helpful. Wifi is blinky n slow but that seems to be the norm than the exception. Sheets pills so felt I was getting an added exfoliation for the price😂 the restaurant is nice where easy quiet tasty dining is needed for the block.

I'm sorry to hear that your first impression of Delhi was not what you expected. Delhi can indeed be crowded and polluted, and the infrastructure in some areas may be crumbling. However, it's good to know that despite these challenges, life in the city continues to move forward.I understand that the city's condition may have affected your overall rating of Delhi, but you mentioned that the hotel you stayed at provided good value for the rate, with reasonable facilities and conveniences. It's also positive to hear that while some staff members may have been grudgingly accommodating, overall they were helpful.Regarding the WiFi, it seems that slow and intermittent connectivity is a common issue in the area, rather than an exception. As for the sheets, I apologize if they were not up to your standards. It appears they may have been worn out and caused some discomfort.On a brighter note, it's great to hear that the hotel's restaurant offered a nice dining experience when you needed a quiet and tasty meal. Finding a peaceful dining spot in a bustling city can be a welcome respite.Overall, I hope that despite the initial shock of Delhi's condition, you were able to find some positives in your experience. India, like any country, has its unique challenges, but it also offers a rich cultural heritage and diverse experiences. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

Not good anymore
Have stayed at both the Goodwin hotels in the pass eight years and the rooms and the service have been very good. But this time the room and the hotel service as very poor and was not happy. I will think about booking this hotel in the future.

Very nice hotel
location is pretty good except for the busy road. This hotel is worth for a transit stay as its very near to New Delhi Station. Rooms , Aircon , Staff every thing is quite good.

A very nice hotel near the station. Not for someone’s first visit to India as out side seems rough area but perfectly safe and friendly. For the traveller very close to the station to walk there. Very good rooms, good bed but charged me for breakfast even though it should have been included.

Clean and friendly
Clean hotel and very friendly staff and service. However, Paharganj area needs overhaul in a big way. Roads are narrow and full of potholes. It is very close to central Delhi.

Disappointing service
Experience was good until the last night where my aunt came to visit us for a few hours before we were going to check out at 6.30am. We arrived at the hotel at 3am and we did not want our aunt to travel back home by herself so we invited her to the hotel room to sit with us whilst we packed to check out in 3 hours. The reception staff kept asking for my aunts ID and even thought I kept asking the receptionist for the email address he kept giving me the wrong one. They were constantly calling us demanding the other side of the ID card even though the photo and main info was on the side we sent. We explained that given that it was 3am there was no family member awake to send the other side of the card at the moment and requested whether we could provide this in a few hours when someone would be awake to send it. The receptionist did not accept this and said that my aunt needed to leave. At 3am in the morning in Delhi where there has been so many reports of rape and crimes against women. Of course I asked the receptionist for his policy to confirm this and he mumbled that it was in the room. I checked the room and there was no policy documents there. The treatment we had on this night was completely unacceptable. The receptionist did not have any regard for the time of night and thought it was acceptable to let a 60 year old senior male and 3 women leave the hotel room at 3am in the morning. Completely disgusting treatment. Would not recommend this hotel.

This is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in and they basically had us stay one night to take money from us. The floors were dirty, the shower was moldy, the front desk did not answer the phone when we were at the airport and could not find the car we had ordered, the bed sheets smelled old, and the manager kicked us out after the first night because they did not have particular licensing. It was crazy. DO NOT stay here.

Medical service is ablolutely negative.
Reception service and help in case of emergancy is hopeless. Reception just could not arrange medical help and directed us to approach nearby Hospital,which was impossible when my wife was immobile due to knee pain. Not appreciated. The reception promised Complementary breakfast while check in and suddenly when check out, charged very high price,on some excused in order to cheat customers. I had to pay Rs.5000 extra on demand with a view to not to raise issue with them, since i had booking with Hotels.com

Good food at the cafe and restaurant and very convenient. For a more expensive hotel I feel that the standard isn't maintained - for example there are always collections of used cups, plates, sheets and towels in the stairwell awaiting removal by housekeeping - the bin in my bathroom was old, rusty, and the lid broken - there was no information folder in my room, no priceless for the minibar, and only two complimentary teabags.

Friendly staff and quite clean
Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast and dinner were really, really good! Noisy area but not much can be done about that. Everything was clean, bathroom even had a hair dryer which was nice and they always made sure we had toilet paper and fresh towels:)

plesant stop over in a midst of chaos
Spent two days in Delhi before traveling to the north east states in India. This low to mid range Hotel was clean and well run. The Staff were both friendly and helpful. Our only issues was Delhi itself. With poor air quality and a city that is very much over populated... we will not be travelling through this city again.

The staff are very helpful and willing to make your stay a pleasant one . Once you have you bearing it is an easy walk to the train station and to Connaught Place with top brand shops If you looking for a bargain Janpath Market and Souvenirs just remember most things are over priced so have a good look around

Beware of theft.
Location is good if you can stand the noise and dust from the front road. The inclusive breakfast is nothing much and tasted bland.The room is clean and the beds are comfortable. Only bath towers are provided but no face and hand towers. The house keeping did not replace toilet paper when it was finished. No complimentary bottled water. There are thieves in the hotel whom we suspect from within. My friend 2nd hand phone left inside a box was stolen from the room when we were out.

Nice hotel for the price
For the price this is a very good hotel, it’s clean and quite modern. The only downside is that the floor was a bit dusty and needed a mop. However, compared to other 3 star hotels it’s very good. We went to the roof top restaurant which is opened 24hrs and it was very good at a good price. It should be noted that we stayed at the studio room. So the room was spacious

My friend and I had 4 nights at Hotel Godwin and enjoyed a wonderful stay. For the price, I would highly recommend it for its central location and wonderful staff. The Manager, Mr Dhawan keeps a close eye on the hotel ensuring everything runs smoothly.
