Adorable cabin, with cozy rooms. Matthew’s Smokehouse in the back of the property was delicious! Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay while you’re on Orcas.

The quiet rustic appeal though I returned 1 evening finding something on fireplace not belonging to me so wondered who was in my room while I was out. Prerequest no maid service. Kinda freaky.

There was no office or anyone on the property to answer. Couldn’t find the room. Had to ask a neighbor. No instructions for door access or Wi-Fi. No cell coverage. Property looked like rural Maine in the 50s. If you don’t like BBQ, you are out of luck on food. It seemed clean. No staff or other customers. Creepy. Cue the Psycho music.

Enjoyable family reunion
The Deer Harbor Inn lodge room was rustic, but clean and comfortable. The bed was quite good and the room and lodge was very quiet. Considering the age of the building, we were concerned about noise transmission, but didn't hear objectional noise from the couple in the room next to us or from the room above us. No cell phone service or land line phone in the room made communication difficult. Overall, a pleasant stay.

We love this place and go at least once every year. We have a sailboat and the Inn is walking distance from the dock. Also having a restaurant on site makes it perfect.

A little confusing on getting to the room. The "lodge" looked like another one if the cabins, so I didnt go there originally. Thanks to a worker on site, she helped me. Thin walls, so heard neighbors talking, even tjough thet were speaking in normal voices. Beautiful area, and mainly quiet. I really enjoyed my stay, but next time will book one of the cabins

Signage is poor, no staff at the resort, the towels, pillows and bed linens were thread bare and past their useful life, the TV was no bigger than a laptop, and the water in the shower would go hot and cold while showering. Two positives: the bed was comfortable and the WiFi worked. All in all it was like Glamping without the glam...

Nice room and setting on the island. Be prepared no one to greet or help with questions on check in. Just a bag on the counter. Remember to check restaurant hours as there is very limited to no other places close to eat or purchase food. Cell service is nonexistent also.

Upon arrival what a surprise at check-in, no one around just grab your white bag on the counter w/key inside. Had questions on where to eat near by in the off season. Given the price of overnight expensive being out of season at $134 per night. Rosario resort same price great stay friendly people. Deer Harbor Room outlets would not hold phone charger in socket kept falling out. Also only two outlets / ports available in the room, not near by where you can use a laptop and plugin at the same time. Refrigerator in room makes a lot of noise, of the two windows in the room only one locked, easy climb in access from the outside. I kept my bags with me when not in the room. Room was small, only two pillows for queen bed use, the other two pillows were in pillow shams.

We liked everything about this property. We will stay here again. The cottage was very clean - it was one of the dog-friendly rooms, and I could detect no trace of dogs having been there (no smell,no stray hairs), so they must have a stellar cleaning staff. The decor was pleasant, and everything was in good repair and worked properly. The hot tub was up and running when we got there. I'm only sad that we were there off-season, so we couldn't eat at their restaurant. Next time!

Had to call owner to get ice. Discovered by accident the hot tub that was on the rear deck. The owner did NOT mention it or leave instructions how to operate it. It ran all night long. The cottage was nice but not worth the $200 rate.

Deer Harbor Inn
It’s a great hotel. Only 15 minutes from the ferry dock. The closest place to eat is the on-site restaurant, which is a little spendy. My room was in the Lodge: a two-story cabin. Bathroom is outdated, water pressure is horrible. My shower went hot-cold-Hot every time another unit flushed. Registration was low-key and easy. My name was written on a white bag with the key in it. The white bag was on a counter with other white bags.

It’s dark!
Beautiful area. Issue with finding location when arriving after dark. Not well lit signs to property. No one to greet you, going to dark cabin with porch light turned off.
