This was the closest hotel near the airport with 24 hr front desk and I came in at 12:30. Only complaint was breakfast til 10am and so was checkout but overall for the few hrs I stayed ther it was worth it

Das Hotel ist ein bißchen in die Jahre gekommen, es gab kein warmes Wasser in der Dusche. Für eine Nacht zum Flughafen Transfer war es gut. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich.

Bad experience and customer service
Bad customer service from the start. I booked for two people. There was only one towel, one bottle of water and told that breakfast was only for one. They did not wanted to tell me the wireless password my Fiancé had to assist. I informed the unprofessional person at the desk that I have prove I booked for two and she refused to look at my paperwork and informed me it was in the system. I went for something to eat and when I returned they had corrected their intentional errors. I read before from a review that someone had the same issue and they charged them extra. I was not going to allow that to happen to me. In the morning I checked out and went to another Hotel. I was to stay for 6 nights , but after such bad experience I would not stay even if they offered it for free. I complained through Hotels.com and received a refund for the remaining 5 nights. Will not be booking this Hotel again. Let’s this be a warning TJ those travelling in pairs

Same applied for our free speedy and reliable Wifi available in all rooms and all outlets in our property. Our assurance to you is that the mishaps experience will never happen again, because disciplinary action has been taken and the issues has been clearly addressed to all remained team members, to make sure our hospitality status and service level continue to be beyond our guest's expectation as how it has been that way for long. Awful
WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. No wifi in the room. Window above the door, so light from the corridor shines into the room all night. No toilet roll. Soil in the rusty old bath. No shower. Sign on the bathroom door about disposing of used condoms. Lift doesn't stop at the floor correctly, so there's large gap to step up into the lift. Check out took ages as receptionist didn't want to take card payment or issue a tax receipt (but did eventually). Receptionist doesn't speak good English and seems incapable of using a phone or a watch correctly. Booked a pick-up from the airport after the last domestic arrival. Airport was closed, taxi rank empty and had to wait alone in the dark for an hour. Requested a discount for drop-off at the airport the next morning due to the inconvenience caused and was told this wasn't possible. Drive from airport took 50 minutes, not the 20 minutes advertised.

I however would like to address the issues that you have raised in your review in the following order: Airport transfer: Greenlight Hotel is located nearest to the airport more than any other high-end hotel in Dar es salaam city. We are talking about an approximately 10 minutes drive or less. This is usually the case as we are located in an area whereby a journey to and fro the airport does not suffer traffic snarl-ups. We normally encourage our esteemed clients to send us email about their flight details, exact arrival date and time. This will give us an opportunity to arrange our airport shuttle for a seamless transfer. The fact that you did not send us the aforementioned details, served to delay the process. Lift maintenance: Indeed we sincerely apologize for the hiccups that our esteemed clients experienced in our elevator. We have taken measures to ensure that there will be no repeat experience of the same. Thus i am glad to inform you that a new elevator system is now up and running and thus i wish to assure our clients of a very smooth experience in our lift system. Wifi: I also would like to apologize about the erratic wifi experience during your stay. Indeed we had a short interruption of the wifi but which was later rectified by our provider. We pride ourselves to offering our clients free super-fast and reliable wifi in the rooms and all other outlets in our property. I have already shared your candid review with my team, and i do take this opportunity to assure you that the mishaps that you encountered have been fixed.

Was a struggle to find a cool room for me with a working air conditioner Breakfast is terrible Bed is very comfortable. Will not stay here again.

Hotel is new and clean. Decorated well. Staff is very friendly. Internet did not work on my floor. I needed the internet because I was there working. No satellite/cable TV access as advertised. jet tub not working. No mini bar in room as advertised. Restaurant service staff is slow. Finally, the price advertised on Expedia was not the price I paid. After booking, the price was shown as higher than advertised.

All around, terrible
Service was terrible, shower was dirty, bathroom was not clean at all and many of things not working, like light, no towels (even after requesting it several times), tub was rusted and molded. Room was hot, A/A was not working appropriately, breakfast not available at the indicated time, and so on. If you can avoid this please, I would recommend you try to find another better one.

OK for an overnight
Greenlight is a typical transit hotel, with convenience to the airport being the main attraction. I had communicated directly with the hotel regarding transportation from the airport and they said that they would arrange for a taxi to pick us up. However, upon arrival we found that no taxi was waiting for us and had to negotiate a price that ended up being almost twice the price quoted by the hotel. Once we arrived at the hotel and asked about the missing taxi, the front desk staff seemed to be unconcerned, offered no apology or other compensation for the increased fare. Checkout time is quite early, 10 AM. I would stay here again if there were no other options available while transiting through Dar.

We had arrived into Dar es Salaam in the middle of the night and were leaving the next day around noon. The room was nice but bring earplugs as it was very noisy outside at night. The staff was kind and helpful.

Transit stopover
Stayed for an afternoon/evening with checkout around midnight on our way to the airport. Very convenient and friendly transit hotel when you need to rest and don't want to spend many hours at the airport. Not far from the ferry and airport. There is a restaurant attached which serves great food at a very reasonable price even by local standards. Staying longer would require hiring a car or taking taxis/local transit options as it's not near the tourist areas, as far as we could tell.

Clean rooms, really bad breakfast.
We only stayed for one night and arrived in the evening and left in the morning, we picked this hotel to be as close to the airport as possible. It says here that the hotel is 4km away from the airport - it is not, it's 9 km - which lead us to an argument with the taxi driver, but the hotel also confirmed 9km in their brochures they had. The room was fine and it was clean. None of all the outlets in the room worked though so we couldn't charge anything which was annoying as we were leaving for one of the islands the day after. The breakfast was extremely disappointing though, there were ALOT of flies all over the restaurant which was disgusting, the boiled egg I got was bad/old. Basically I only had two plain toasts with nothing on them.

This is because, when you source your own transfer from the airport, the taxi drivers are likely to charge you more, and to justify the cost they may bring you to the hotel, via a longer route. I am really sorry for your experience. Try to find an alternative !
The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that the transfer worked fine. However transfer is not for free as indicated on Hotels web-page. When order and payment is done the hotel confirmation states that if you stay 3 nights or more the transfer is free - but I doubt anyone has ever stayed here voluntarily for that long. A USD 20 fee (one way) is charged, which was changed when we left to USD 50 for two ways. Restaurant in the hotel lobby is NOT good! AC in the room but only active when you are in the room so it takes an hour to cool the room after return. Power cut for an hour didm´t help much either.

Trevlig övernattning nära flygplatsen
Personalen var ytterst hjälpsam och försökte verkligen sitt allra bästa att gästerna skulle trivas. Tyvärr deras kortterminal funkade inte och dom var tvungen att köra dig till närmaste automaten. Samma fel överallt i Tanzanien, i andra hotellen, restaurant oxå. Vattentryck i duschen var dålig, men det är kanske inte hotellets fel, kommunal snarast. Ingen oväsen, sov riktigt bra.

Pour une nuit, en transit...
Nous n'avons passé qu'une nuit dans cet hôtel avant de partir pour un Safari dans le Serengeti. Nous avions programmé un transfert depuis l'aéroport avec le manager, mais personne ne s'est présenté à notre arrivée. Le côté positif de l'hôtel, c'est sa proximité avec l'aéroport. Rien de plus, rien de moins.
