"We have been driving past this place for years thinking it looks nice, but it probably costs a fortune. Well, I'm here to tell you it doesn't and it is a gem. It's a beautiful place with old-fashioned charm. The staff (all of them) were super friendly. The rooms where perfect size and quiet. "This is a fun old-timey hotel right in the center of Durango- we liked it because it was Kitschy and fun. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and large, and the shower was fine. The breakfast was very basic-- like what you would get at a Holiday Inn Express. They did have coffee on each floor though, which was nice. "

"The area it was in was perfect. It was 5 steps away from the Amtrak station where we got off. It was also in the heart of downtown so everything we wanted or needed was within walking distance. The property also has a coffee shop, a bar, and a boutique in it. Unfortunately, the bar was closed due to renovations. Other parts of the hotel were under renovation as well while we were there, but I was pleased that it didn’t cause too much of a ruckus."
