So I stayed just one night, and the staff rocked. They were very helpful organizing my ride to Kandy. They were very friendly, offering a ton of suggestions on what do during my Sri Lanka stay. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was very hot, making for the perfect short stay.

We booked late so most other similarly-priced options were already taken. The Rockwell is clean, air conditioned, well located and friendly. No elevator (not a problem for us). For a reasonably priced place we were very happy but we didn't spend much time in the room.

We recently stayed at your hotel for one week and wanted to share our thoughts on the experience. Overall, we were impressed with the level of hospitality provided by your staff. Everyone was friendly and efficient, making our stay much more enjoyable. The hotel's central location was also convenient, saving us time and transport costs. One area that I think could be improved is the cleaning standards. While our room was generally clean, I felt a few areas, especially the bathroom, could have been cleaner. So I think raising the cleaning standards bar would be helpful in creating an even more comfortable and welcoming environment for guests. Despite this, we enjoyed our stay at your hotel and appreciate the effort put in by your staff to make it a great experience. Thank you for your hard work, and I look forward to potentially staying with you again.

My stay was great, the location of the accommodation was also close to the tourist attractions, and the reception staff was very helpful by giving me the best itinerary to go around Colombo!

This is a definitely value for money and great place for staying without many guests and less attention. YOu feel like you are living in Colombo with great staff who prepares food and clean your room. We will stay again.

A little gem in shopper's paradise
Stylish, great bathroom and shower, top location (Ward Place/Borella). Their service was the best I've experienced in Sri Lanka sofar: always on the dot, efficient, meals served in style and eager to please their guests. I couldn't stay longer, or else I would have.. I'll be back for sure.

Dont see any reason why we should return. I am aware that we get what we pay for, but very simple things has been ignored, like training, wires and cables running from everywhere, quality of the menus (appearance). However the staff are brilliant and extremely friendly.

Would stay here again
Very happy with our choice of hotel for two nights when we first got to Colombo. An easy tuk tuk ride into the city which was not too far. Some restaurants close by for night meals. Really nice breakfast in a little courtyards. Nice staff.

It was quite funny that only one person in this place could speak English and his shift was untill 5:30.so after that time it was a challenge to communicate with other members of staff.

Great staff, great hotel.
Staff at the Rockwell were excellent. They were very accommodating and didn't mind when we last minute pushed back our check in time to midnight. They were also super helpful with organizing taxis ect. Breakfast was great: fruit, warm bread & pastries, eggs and sausages. Room was exactly like the picture

Quaint boutique hotel
Although the location itself isn't near any major tourist attractions (there isn't really much to begin with in Colombo), it is a surprisingly nice boutique hotel that's comfortable and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and I have no regrets staying there. You can hire Tuktuks to bring you to Galle Face or Dutch quarters (Ministry of Crabs) for 200-300 rupees.

Great hotel after a long journey
We stayed at Rockwell on our arrival to Sri Lanka after a long 24 hours journey. We had such a wonderful welcome by the kind and friendly staff. They prepared us the most delicious curry to have in our room. Wonderful way to start our holiday in Sri Lanka.

Misleading advertising
To begin with there are no lifts in this day and age. The advertising was very misleading, for example there isn't a bar, the so called gym is three pieces of equipment in a tiny room, there is a small room where meals are cooked and an outdoor area with tables and chairs which is steaming hot and impossible to enjoy your meals. On the plus side the staff are delightful and cannot do enough for you, especially Ken at reception. Breakfast is generous and the overall quality of the meals are okay.

Breakfast was extremely good, maybe the best we had in Sri Lanka. We had the Paris room just above the kitchen and reception area. The room and the shower were big. However, the arrangement of the bathroom was not optimal, the toilet was blocking the bathroom door from opening. The curtains in the bathroom didn't offer sufficient privacy, while showering we could see the garden area, and I am sure they could see us if they looked up. The same issue in the room, where the curtains had gaps. From 6:30 we could hear clearly discussions from the reception, staff preparing breakfast, discussions from the backyard and on one day loud music. Staff were very friendly, but sometimes too persistent in asking for our plans and if we would like transportation to be booked for us. On our arrival, staff were keen on recommending a couple of restaurants, but when I asked them to make a reservation for us at a very specific restaurant they didn't offer to do it.

We were welcomed on arrival with a face cloth and delicious fruit cocktail which made us feel well looked after. The hotel staff were very polite and friendly and made the whole arrival process easy and seamless. The hotel guest rooms are spacious, extremely clean, modern and comfortable.

Small friendly boutique hotel .
Hidden away in Borella close to House of Fashion is the Rockwell. Recently refurbished it consists of just 6 rooms. We were in EPSOM which is a junior suite. Large spacious rooms on the top floor. Well appointed with comfortable bed ,sofa, large shower and safe Friendly, helpful staff a great find at a very reasonable rates

Stay was good. Staff are very courteous and friendly. Is a nice small hotel which has a personalised service. Somewhat far away from Colombo Centre but can easily get a cab into the centre very cheaply. Breakfast consisted of fruit, fresh juice, breads and an egg/sausage which was all very edible.

We stayed for 2 nights and the hotel/guest house was great. The rooms are spacious and clean. Aruna and the staff were really helpful and friendly, particularly with my young daughter. Breakfast was delicious and make sure you try their Sri Lsnkan curries one night!

Modern and friendly.
The hotel is modern but some of the room and bathroom fittings required attention. The staff were friendly and helpful. However the breakfast service was very slow for the limited choice. Overall positive stay despite the lack of an elevator (3rd floor, 70 year old)

Good Stay
The hotel located in the heart of Colombo so all amenities it offers is a hop step and a jump away. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was a la carte menu but the portion size was good. Although limited parking was available the garage was open to the public road the entire night therefore, a question of your vehicle arises. Also this may not be suitable for guest with walking difficulties as most of the rooms are located in 1st floor and above. The elevator doesn't seems to function. We reserved a suite so the room size was very good. wifi was not great. Overall good stay.

The warmest of welcomes to Sri Lanka
Wonderful staff who were friendly and went out of their way to help and make us feel welcome. The decor was very fresh and the room very pleasant. Just a shame ants were getting in from the balcony! A fabulous breakfast served.

What more could you want..
I arrived at 02.20 at Colombo Airport, Rockwell had sent a driver to collect mev,and as I was staying 5 ,there was no charge for taxi I was greeted by a friendly member of staff ,giving me a cold face flannel and a nice cold drink. Check in took 5 minutes,then I was shown to my room . My entire stay was wonderful with the mist helpful staff,what a great team they are .They even phoned me to ask if I wished to take breakfast at 09.55 . Service was excellant .Room was very large with all you could ask for ,a lovely balcony at back of hotel, and a super roof terrace, which had acloveky breeze after 5 pm . Every time I left hotel they asked me if I needed any help or information, and provided local map,very useful There was always someone at reception 24/7 which was reassuring .. I am in Sri Lanka until May 6th,,and if plans allow, I Will be spending my last 2 nights at Rockwell. A really pleasant stay,oh and a good nice fresh breakfast either in courtyard or you can take it on your balcony . Finally a BIG thank you to all the team ,a good job by everyone.

Our stay at Rockwell Colombo was very pleasant...it was just a stopover before we took our flight back home so I was good. 1st of all I must say that the address on Hotels.com is incomplete and it makes it very difficult to find the hotel. In regards to the hotel ...The bed in our room creaked. Also when you come back to the hotel after a long day out or with a lot of shopping it would be nice not to have to take the stairs up 2 floors. It would also be nice to be able to order room service at least up to 10pm...9pm is a little early. The only thing that made our stay was the staff...they are super friendly and helpful. Even thought the kitchen closes at 9pm they were helpful with giving us the McDonalds menu, and also since I was not feeling well enough to eat a meal and they couldn't give me a fruit salad the guy was sweet enough to give me a few bananas. Thanks!

Arrived very late and two people ready to assist with quick processing/drink and into our room. Nice breakfast next morning and the staff negotiated our transport to the train station on our behalf so we were not ripped off.

Little gem in the middle of Colombo
We loved this hotel, it was small, very personal and what I call a boutique hotel. Staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble, rooms were small but very comfortable and had everything you needed. Very clean and compact. Great home made breakfast served at your convenience, no bainmarie rubbish, Correspondence was prompt and all emails answered within ten minutes, hotel even organised our personal pick up from airport.
