Fabulous hotel
Amazing stay - fabulous breakfast, lovely room, & great position for exploring Cologne. Would not hesitate to recommend & would definitely stay again if visiting Cologne again.

Great hotel,location and price
Great hotel 15 mins walk from the HBF. Friendly staff and comfortable room for a good price. Checked out early so no chance to sample breakfast but will hopefully return 👍👍👍

Coellner Hof: Clean and pleasant
Nice, clean, efficient hotel. It's a little on the old side, with a slow elevator and such, but the room was clean and comfortable. In-room safe, good TV setup, small but efficient shower. No complaints at all. Short walk from train station and Cathedral; generally quiet area but eating options nearby.

Internet connection is very spotty so if you need to depend on it as I did, you cannot. When I spoke to the front desk about she replies" I am a woman, I do not know about these technology things". Is there someone you can call? "No the technician does not come in until Monday" Can you reset the modem to see if that helps? "no I don't know how to do that" So there is no one you can contact? "No" The breakfast is very good, clean, good location close to the DOM, 2 minutes from transportation. Some rooms can be very small, like less than 2 metre wide (single) and pillows have no substance to them to it is almost like not having one. I like a lot abut the hotel but given the problems mentioned I would not stay there again.

Conveniently located near public transportation and restaurants and shops nearby. Rooms and amenities were decent. Being at the center of the city, I was worried about noise, but the hotel was quiet and I could get restful sleep.

The Wi-Fi in the rooms was not working at all for the duration of my 3-night stay, which is a HUGE deal for me. The Wi-Fi worked in the lobby only, if you could figure out the password to connect to it. My first night I tried to ask for help at the reception desk, but the man working there didn't speak more than a few words of English and also didn't seem to be aware of the problem, and got immediately irritated with me when I tried to explain the problem. He threw his hands in the air and spoke to me in a loud voice (in German), saying basically that he couldn't help me. I ended up getting help from some random people in the lobby to get the password for the lobby Wi-Fi. The next day I asked a different person at the front desk about it, and was informed that the Wi-Fi was not working, and it might be fixed "in a few days." It was still not fixed by the end of my stay. My room was decent as far as size, cleanliness, and decor, although the twin bed was so hard I had trouble sleeping, and even though I had a nonsmoking room, I could smell cigarette smoke in my room at night. Furthermore, they did not provide a "Do Not Disturb" sign in the room, and even though I locked the deadbolt from the inside, the maid barged in at 9am while I was trying to sleep in one morning and literally shrieked in surprise when she saw me. I paid for breakfast one morning, but the coffee was bitter so I didn't do it again.

Staff were very helpful, breakfast was brilliant. I booked a single room which had everything I needed, including a strong shower, hairdryer and a nice table in the window looking over the street. It was a hot day though so with no AC I opened the window so there was quite a bit of street noise.

A pleasant stay overall, though the WiFi coverage leaves a bit to be desired. It's excellent in some rooms and virtually non-existent in others.

Good position
A well positioned hotel made getting around the city very easy. The common areas were well maintained and comfortable. Breakfast was satisfactory. Room was a good size with a good bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Would have no hesitation in returning.

The hotel was situated as says, close to the Dom and centre of koln. It is easy to find and the reception was very helpful My only negative is parking upon arrival, I had to leave my car with my girlfriend in it, as blocking the road, while I went to reception and then they opened up the underground garage. The bar was warm and friendly, the breakfast had a wide selection to choose from. The room itself was clean spacious and made for a relaxing night away.

Decent hotel 10 min walk from Koln Hbf
It's a overall decent hotel for the money, the rooms are tidy and the breakfast is very good. It's a quick walk from the Hbf, 10min or less and shopping is 15 to 20 min walk away. It's on a quite busy street, so don't expect serenity when you open your windows. The only down side is that some hotel staff doesn't speak English that well and the walk from Koln Hbf to the hotel is a little bit shady in the night after 7pm.

Friendly and comfortable - great location.
Easy access from train station. Easy reaching lots of interesting locations. Our booking gave us a perfect room for 3 persons. The breakfast was excellent. A very good hotel to stay at if you want to visit Cologne.

Great place, especially when they get the air conditioning installed. If you like hookers, sports bars and lots of noise, you're in the right place. However, very cool designed hotel. Once they get the bugs out of the newly installed air conditioning, all you'll need is ear plugs. Beautiful, though! 1.5 blocks from the main train station.

A good choice for a weekend break
This was our second visit to the Coellner Hof Hotel, the first having been four years ago. The hotel remains clean, comfortable and well-run, with smoking rooms available. Our room was very generously-sized; with a proper bath, in addition to the shower. Breakfast is highly recommended, with a wide choice of options, including some cooked and runs for a good, long time. The hotel is conveniently located, with the cathedral about a 7-10 minute walk away. Hansaring station, with overground and underground rail services, is only a couple of hundred metres down the road and there are frequent trains directly to and from the airport. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again one day.

Had a very large single room with shower and bath. Bed was too hard for me so back ached after one night. I asked for a quiet room and was put on 6th floor but still faced main road and was very noisy. Also the walls are super thin. Cleaners were making a lot of noise outside ny room in the morning and while the room next to mine was a single there was definitely 2 very drunk people in there. Their shower sounds like a hailstorm through tge walls waking me up at 3am. Breakfast buffet was great.

Coellner Hof - A little treasure in Cologne
I stayed at the Coellner Hof while working as an exhibitor at a trade show. While the rest of my team were put up in more expensive, American-style hotels downtown, I was 1 km north of them in a residential neighborhood off the Hansaring. I was two S-bahn stops from my daily job and within walking distance of convenience shopping and nice, small restaurants. On the first day of Carnival, when I was wrapping up my business online, drum bands were passing under my window all afternoon, which made me want to hurry up, get finished and join the party! The hotel staff was extremely helpful in pointing out local sights like the Eigelsteiner Tor behind the hotel, and in correcting my bad German without making me feel stupid (of course they all spoke English, including the maids). The hotel laundry got one of my dingy dress shirts whiter than white! Breakfasts were varied, with fresh breads and meats/fruit/juice/cereals. Did not eat at the restaurant, but the menu was tempting. The bar was cozy and I met some pleasant fellow visitors to Cologne while drinking koelsch and pilsner. Single room was smaller than typical U.S. hotels, which made it perfect for my needs: bed, bathroom, TV, desk -- WiFi connection from the room was spot on! I would stay at the Coellner Hof again without a second thought.

Am Hotel gibt es soweit nichts auszusetzen, allerdings liegt es an einer Hauptverkehrsstraßen, womit es Nachts auch sehr laut ist.
