I cannot believe this has so many good reviews. It’s not in the best neighborhood, and sirens were going off all night right outside my window. When I came back from my college awards ceremony, there was a helicopter very low overhead, right above the hotel, looking for someone. Sometime around midnight or so, someone was trying to open every door on the third floor. They tried my door a couple times. I was frozen in fear and barely mustered the strength to wake up and grab my mace. The building is not secured how it should be. When I stayed in Lincoln Park, the hotel made it so staircases and elevators were only accessible by key card. This hotel shuts down the outside elevator in the late afternoon but anyone can walk in the lobby and take the elevator immediately next to the entrance door without needing a key card. I’m assuming that’s how someone got onto my floor and was trying doors. The room itself was dirty. There were stains all over the carpet and the nightstand was taped with blue duct tape. The shower didn’t work properly and I was unable to shower. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, as were the pillows, and no comforter was provided. It was just 2 thin sheets with a thin, flimsy fleece sheet in the middle. I woke up with bed bug bites as well. I wanted to get breakfast but everywhere I went, the breakfast attendant was staring me down and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I just grabbed a coffee and ran out. The breakfast and free parking isn’t worth it. Awful.
