We were very disappointed in the pricing of the accommodation. Our first night was at $144 and our second night was at $272 for the same room. One would imagine that you could accommodate a guest for two consecutive nights at the same price and we are Marriott members. The first night was the smallest king size room we have ever been in. Because of that we moved to a two queen bed room for the next night which was better in size but the furnishings in both rooms are bargain basement minimalist/IKEA quality. These are two person rooms and 2 paper cups were provided. So one had to have a glass of wine/brush your teeth/make yourself a coffee in the morning in the same paper cup.
The whole hotel did not smell good, particularly the house we were yelled at.
Upon arrival, we were yelled at by the parking attendant as we tried to check in. When we went out to retrieve our bags again, he was very confrontational. When we went out to retrieve the car to move it to the parking garage he was very confrontational. He also said he did not know where the cars were going to be parked even though that is his job as the valet.
Our experiences at Marriott on our 7 night road. trip (including Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Winnipeg Manitoba, Minneapolis, Minnesota ) were very good until this property in Chicago. We would not recommend it and we would never go back.
