Christina and her partner went out of their way to ensure my stay was first rate in every way. And the accommodation is both charming and spotlessly clean. If in Catania again I won’t hesitate to stay with them again.

The entrance to the property is pretty off putting. Having 4 keys to get from the gate to my room a bit intimidating. No lights in the stairwell that I could find. But the host, a British expat, was helpful and delightful as was the quirky and fun interior of his apartment. He arranged for a car to the airport for a predawn pickup. I spent very little time there but it was convenient to the airport,

Incredible place
Only good things to say about Cristina and Rob and their wonderful, welcoming B&B in Catania. Lovely people, right in the heart of town, and so helpful. Very cute accommodation and lovely breakfast - I'd never tried pistachio croissants and the ones Cristina buys were a dream!

Cristina and Rob are very personable and ready with reccomendations for eating, sight seeing and Catanian lore. The elevator is a plus up 3 floors.. The room and bed were very comfortable and the breakfast much like home.

Cristina is a warm, welcoming host who is enthusiastic about Sicily and has lots of useful advice and recommendations about where to eat and what to see and do. The B&B is cheerful and colourful, with quirky features and unique decor. Some of the areas do need a bit of attention(broken lights, flaking paintwork in bathroom and dust in table lamps) Although it's a convenient location, the street noise is constant, so sleep is difficult. However, perhaps this is out of the owner's control and the price you pay for being so close to Catania centre.

If you love eclectic interiors, lovely old buildings and places with a distinct personality (and I do) 5 Balconi is for you. Fantastic and friendly hosting with lots of top tips for local places, restaurants and bars to visit as well as help in booking tours. If I ever visit Catania again, I'd definitely stay here again too!

We stayed in 5 Balconi for one night and wish we could have stayed longer. The location was perfect, right near the city center and several restaurants. Rob and Christina were incredibly kind and welcoming, and offered many recommendations for activities and trattorias. Great experience!

The hosts, Cristina and Rob, are some of the kindest and most welcoming people my girlfriend and I have ever met. They make one feel comfortable and cozy, in what seems like a little magical place, and a home for anyone who wishes to come by for a good nights sleep.

Cristina et Rob sont très accueillant. Très bien localisé, proche de l’hypermarché centre avec de bonnes options pour manger. Chambre spacieuse et propre. Le balcon a un belle vue sur la rue et l’activité locale.

La calorosa accoglienza a tarda serata es il mettersi a disposiIone si Rob è stato il vero fattore che ci ha fatto amare questa struttura. Lui londinese dall’aria un Yppie che ci ha saputo consigliate un ottimo ristorantino nelle vicinanze, mettendosi a disposizione per qualunque necessità. La colazione preparata al mattino davvero presto con quel l’attenzione di chi ha saputo fare dell’accoglienza uno stile di vita, il pane caldo con burro e marmellate biologiche, un fantastico cappuccino e le spremute di quelle arance che sanno subito “Sicily style” insomma ci hai stregato Rob! Gli interni curati nei particolari ti fanno sentire davvero a casa ... posizionata nelle vicinanze del castello punto vitale della città con locali dove passare delle belle serate, peccato (ma solo per chi come me ha il sonno leggero) che ci si trova direttamente sulla strada molto trafficata, per il resto Catania da amare se sei al 5 balconi!!!

영어를 아주 잘 하는 호스트라서 의사소통에 문제가 전혀 없음. 숙소도 앤틱풍의 고풍스러운 느낌이고 난방이 잘 됨.공항일정 때문에 새벽에 체크아웃 하느라 조식을 처음에 거절했음에도 크로아상을 챙겨줄 정도로 배려심이 있음

初めての共用バスルーム
初めての共用バスルームだったので、どうなることやらと思っていましたが、オーストラリアからの年配の女性2人組やご夫婦なども滞在されており、思ったよりも快適でした。 専用バスルームものぞいてみましたが、とても狭かったので、むしろオススメではありません。 お部屋は写真のとおりです。 ただ、共用部分の内装が独特で、こちらは評価が分かれると思いますし、潔癖症の方には向いていないと思います。 駅まで歩くことも可能で、タオルミーナに日帰りした日は往復歩きました。 またチェックアウト日は10時台の飛行機のため早朝出発しなければならず、朝食を冷蔵庫に入れておいてもらえないかとお願いしたところ、快く応じてくださいました。 空港までのALIBUSの発着ターミナルがとても近いこと、向かいのちょっと怪しげなお店の惣菜がありえないほど安くておいしいこともプラスです。

Das 5 Balconi liegt sehr zentral. Von unserem Balkon konnte man sogar eine Ecke das Castello Ursino sehen. Zu Fuß waren es keine 10 Minuten zum Fischmarkt. Das Haus liegt allerdings an einer mittelgroßen Straße, an der es nicht gerade leise ist. Das ist aber bei allen anderen Unterkünften mit Innenstadtlage genau so. In Catania ist es eben selten ruhig. Die Gastgeber Christina (Italienerin) und Rob (Engländer) sind sehr nett, hilfsbereit und geben tolle Tipps für Restaurants etc. Dass das Bad und die Toilette über den Flur ist, hat uns nichts ausgemacht. Dafür bekommt man ein wirklich schönes B&B für einen super Preis! Das Frühstück (im Preis dabei) ist mit Müsli, Brötchen, Wurst, Marmelade, frischem Obst und einem leckeren Kaffee völlig ausreichend und lecker. Und wo hat man das schon, dass man von den Gastgebern mit Küsschen verabschiedet wird. Wir können das 5 Balconi für einen Kurztripp sehr empfehlen.
