The patio is a must to sightsee ocean from Carmel. The Jacuzzi tub which could fit two persons is great. The only thing i would mention is one side of the mattress was broken...I will need to sleep on sofa :(

Great property in the center of Carmel. Clean, simple and quaint. The staff was helpful and courteous. Location was perfect for walking to shops, restaurants, and the beach.

The room was exactly like the picture. It was roomy, well laid out and the deck would have been lovely if weren’t raining. The staff were friendly and responsive. The location is convenient to everything and is downhill from most things, so when you’re tired and headed back at night, gravity is on your side. All the furniture is comfy and that bathtub is huge. I would absolutely stay at the Tally Ho again.

What a lovely spot! You are in walking distance of the beach as well as the downtown shops, bars, restaurants, but feel like you are a world away. Our room had a very private, wooded terrace that looked out at the sea, with folding doors that opened up to the whole room. There is a fireplace to keep it cozy at night, and a huge jetted tub for luxury. Outdoor areas included an always-on firepit, and another a terrace area with a view - if we'd been part of a group, these would have been terrific places to gather. We did enjoy hot brandies by the firepit the night we arrived - great welcome! The charming office also has a fireplace and coffee/tea/brandy/fruit for your drop in pleasure. Only thing we missed was a coffee maker/tea kettle in the room, as the office closed at 8 at night, so we couldn't make bedtime tea. BUT it is an easy walk to the office to grab coffee in the morning, and the folks across the way at their sister property (Il Fornaio) were happy to send us home later at night with cups of hot water. We LOVED our stay here, and will happily return.

Amazing stay and the room was well appointed, sizable and with its own private deck overlooking the ocean We enjoyed a lovely glass of wine and the sunset privately there The staff was amazing! We had a 2.5 year old and they anticipated needs and even followed up once we left. Very much felt we were truest their guests vs a room stay Thank you for the treat and wonderful experience

We loved the location, which was one block off of Ocean ave (the Main Street). Thought the service was excellent. Very friendly. We enjoyed having the private deck to sit out on. Very comfortable chairs to enjoy the views.

Rude staff, outdated decor that was chipped-paint worn, stained rug. No view. Lack of air conditioning room was stuffy. Staff sarcastic when told that. Room next to trash dumpster. Company picks it up early in morning. Bathroom door warped, sticks doesn’t shut properly. Do not promise extras offered. No modern amenities: microwave, complimentary water in room. Not worth the inflated price. Please update your place.

The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel staff was super friendly, even surprising us with a bottle of champaign for my wife's birthday. The restaurant, Il Fornaio, was an excellent restaurant with a Michelin quality menu and wonderful service. We were super impressed with servers Francisco and Kathy for each of our dining room experience. They were incredibly professional, personable, and helpful with our meal selection. We truly had a wonderful experience overall at Tally Ho.

The location of tally ho in is what made our stay. The hotel itself is outdated, musty, and has zero soundproofing so any movement from our upstairs or outside neighbors woke us in the night.

Don’t expect much but it’s clean
Nice hotel but very disappointing that when we arrived to check in at 6 o’clock no one was to be found except a note telling us to go across the street to the other hotel to get our key which was not across the street it was down an alley with no notification of where to go we wandered around for 15 minutes until we figured it out The hotel itself is OK definitely not what we expected and FAR from a 9 to 10. It’s definitely dated but clean almost seems abandoned best part is the parking that’s about all the positive we can give it hotel room does not have much there’s no robes or coffee maker, or even a bottle of water Bathroom had chinking and caulking that was falling off but overall clean the hotel is a three out of five in our opinion

We are so sorry about your negative experience. We are short staffed and must close early a couple days a week. There should have been robes in the closet and 2 bottles of water on the desk top. We put coffee makers in the rooms upon request. We are sorry that our restaurant entrance was closed at 6, it is usually open until 9.We will certainly take a close look at the rooms and especially those areas you found to be lacking. Hopefully, if you come again, things will be much better. Thank you for your stay and your observations.

We loved staying here and will absolutely come back. The location cannot be beat. We loved having 2 bathrooms and all the extra room, plus the outdoor fireplace. The best part is how walkable it is to everything in Carmel By The Sea. The only tiny complaint is the parking garage is so narrow - hard to park an SUV down there, but all the other positives far and beyond make up for that one small detail.

Good but expected more for the price
Pros: We stayed in the most expensive type of room so we had a beautiful view, a fireplace and a large quiet room and large marble bathroom. The location was great and free parking in Carmel is wonderful! Cons: the TV was impossible to watch because of constant rebuffering. The outdoor deck had an area of rotting wood which seemed dangerous. The decor needed some updating. And for the price I expected a happy hour or maybe at least some welcoming cookies on arrival.

Relaxing stay in beautiful Carmel
Beautiful small inn. Very comfortable, large room with view of ocean & Pebble Beach area even from our first floor suite. (The second story suites do involve a lot of steps so wouldn’t advise those if you have a lot of luggage or mobility problems…although there is someone to assist with luggage). Large jacuzzi tub in bathroom….just wish it would fill faster as it has a waterfall type faucet so harder to keep water warm…minor issue though!
