For Carbondale to be the intersection of two solar eclipses, this place did little to encourage guests to return. The grass was not cut, the parking lot needs repaving, and various other things could have made our trip much better. It’s like they don’t really care about their establishment with the boarded up windows, and such. Very disappointing.

By no means a fancy place, but for what I paid it was worth it. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. It was very quiet, likely because the university is on break. The location worked well for me too.

Good value with the discount
I paid half price for my stay so it was especially nice for the price. The room and halls were very cleaned and well maintained and furnished. I am very happy with our stay. There was no gym or pool so this works if you are not needing a lot of amenities.

The reason why this was the last place available!
The hotel was clean but the problem started with the check-in process. The kiosk is not the answer. Next the door does not latch without applying extreme force which may be a result of the humidity level in the room. The ac works but there was a cool mist in the room. Finally don't do the deposit with a credit card it's been 5 business days and I still have not seen my refund.

Room had strong odor.
The odor in the room was overpowering. Smelled like a combination of mold/mildew and industrial-strength neutralizer. Had to keep the window open (it was in the 90s) and bring in multiple air fresheners just to make it tolerable. Everything else was fine and as expected. The common areas were pleasant and did not have an odor. Maybe it was just our room. (We were there over family weekend at the near by university and the name brand hotels didn’t have any vacancies.)

Having to check in with this Kiotel machine, Whatever happens to face- to- face in person/human contact. For the room we booked we were seeing the window facing the back staircase while under- construction and the parking lot torn up and such. Scary Movie Scene
STAY AWAY! When I pulled up to the place it looked deserted. I went into the building to check in and it was like a scene off a movie from 1970s scary movie. There were multiple bug traps hanging from the ceiling and no one was at the desk to greet us. There was a telephone to call. I instantly asked for a refund and walked out. They later lied and said they never spoke with me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and I can bet had I stayed I would've brought home unwanted pets! Not worth your money.

Dirty and poorly maintained
Hotel is dirty and poorly maintained. Bathroom door would not close completely because of prior water damage to frame that was never repaired. And the “free breakfast” offered your choice of crunch berries or wheat toast, nothing else. Absolutely would not stay there again.

Not a great experience
This was a rough stay. Checked in around 11pm and they sent us to a room that there were people in. I opened the door and saw suitcases and piles of clothes. The lights were out but TV on. I quickly closed the door. When I told staff at the front desk they asked me if the people were scared or said anything. I don’t know. I didn’t stick around to chat!! She sent us to a new room and it was unoccupied. The room had been remodeled but was dirty. The floors were dirty in the bathroom. There was a dirty washcloth hanging over the shower bar. There were two spots of hair on the shower wall. I worries our car might get broken into as there were people just walking around at night. Beds were comfy. One sheet had what seemed to maybe be a paw print of dirt on it. We’ve wondered what this hotel might be like each time we have come to Carbondale. Now we know. We wouldn’t stay here again.

We booked 1 day over the weekend. There was not many room occupied at this time, and even though we got not nice room at all! The lack wasn’t working at all, everybody could just get in, tha bathtub didn’t look clean, it was a yellow stain ar the bottom , same as a sink, the toilet needed to be flushed twice or three time, due to was backing up. The view outside was terrible…I wouldn’t complain at all if I wouldn’t have a feeling we have gotten the worst room they had. Since There were not many room occupied, why they just didn’t care? We didn’t want to complain at the place, because it was late and we were tired, but this hotel overall has standard of the cheap motel for much higher price.I believe they supposed put some more effort to satisfy the customer since there were not many customers at all. Not recommend.

Service was friendly. The facility is very nice and inviting. They are very accommodating with requests. They allow pets at a reasonable rate. I’m happy with our stay!

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at!! Keep away!!
If you like old, dirty hotels that make your skin crawl and don't mind being kept awake all night by people partying out in the parking lot with their music so loud it rattles your bed, and if your not worried about your vehicle being damaged, broken into, or stolen, and if the possibility of being hit by a stray bullet excites you...then this might be the place for you! Seriously, this place is awful. Management claims to have a quiet policy from 9pm to 7am, but they did absolutely nothing about the people partying, fighting and blasting their car stereos in the parking lot until 3am! They claim the police won't do anything. Did I mention it is connected to a night club? This is definitely not a place to bring your family! If you're looking for drugs or prostitutes, you may be in luck... If not, stay far, far away. You've been warned!!
