Awesome hotel!

Posted 03-Jan-2014
The hotel put us in contact with a complimentary cab ride to dinner at the Shadowbrook...then they send us two appetizers at our dinner! Very comfortable beds and love the lotions etc... Definitely will be going there again!

Great Capitola location

Posted 21-Oct-2013
This is a great location with an easy walk to several inexpensive, family-friendly restaurants: pizza, taqueria, and 50's burger joint. Bring your bikes and easily bike to Pleasure Point, Capitola Village, or Santa Cruz! The hotel staff are pleasant & welcoming, and the rooms were clean and well-appointed.

Aggressive staff

Posted 25-Aug-2013
Pros: It was very clean, had a nice tv and good tv channels. Right across from whole foods and cvs. It was very conveniently located.
Cons: Professionalism of the staff
Location: Right down the street from downtown capitola
The man at the desk was extremely rude. He left his shift and started telling at a man for smoking outside of the hotel and told him he needed to confiscate his cigarettes or whatever it was he had. He then told him he needed to leave the hotel and left in his car. The man walked right back inside, which was fine being that I didn't even see he did anything wrong anyway. The moral to the story is, he was on a major power trip, didn't even follow through to be sure the man didn't enter the hotel again, proving he had no means of kicking him out anyway. It was just rude and unprofessional.

Accommodating.

Posted 16-Aug-2013
Pros: Clean, functional, and quiet.
Cons: Provide more Waffle Irons during the complementary breakfast hour... two aren't enough.
Location: Santa Cruse Boardwalk is just around the corner.
Our stay was very accommodating and close to our final destination, Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

Location: Beaches for surfing very close by
Great room, clean and nice. Nice pool for kids. Free breakfast offered and it's not just a normal continental breakfast. Enjoyed egg and cheese sandwiches, waffles and yogurt!

By far the worst hotel

Posted 02-Aug-2013
Pros: Nothing!! Pool was tiny!
Cons: Staff needs to be improved, terrible!
Location: Nothing....not walking distance to the beach!! I was mislead!
This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. They pushed check in to 415pm when it was originally at 3pm so I sat in the car for over an hour with a 2 year old and 7 year old, then they bad mouthed expedia to me, and never cleaned our room on the second day. The final straw was that we were promised 2 full beds and was stuck with 1 king for 4 people!!! Not acceptable! I feel totally taken advantage of.
